Hot water and great Aircon! The common spaces are magical- lots of tables and chairs to sit with a beautiful view of the river and a clean pool to have a dip in after a hot day! Breakfast has many options- from omelette with or without meat and cereals and fruit! Only thing is dinner service ends at 6pm- but local...

"The Phuttal Residence is located on a beautiful river/canal. We stayed in the family apartment, though there were just the two of us. The furniture and accommodations were nothing fancy, but everything was clean and orderly. The breakfast was excellent. Even though we had a kitchen, we did not cook. Please note that you will need to order a taxi to find a restaurant. It is about a 10 minute drive to center of Ayutthaya."

"So, after having such nice welcomes.everywhere I've ever been in Thailand, here was a bit of a shock. There is no real welcome and interaction comes across at best nonplussed, at worst rude. But if you come prepared for that and you have a room on the raft, they are lovely and are good value for the price. Once you get over the lack of interaction with anyone.... It's great! The view from the river are really lovely to wake up to."

"Probably the nicest bed I have slept in on this vacation. Only one electrical outlet in the room, shared with the mini fridge and television set, so if you have any electronics to charge, you take turns. Bathroom is nice but the water shuts down at times and you wait a few minutes for it to return. This motel is a hundred metres to the Kwai River and it’s a ten minute walk to the bridge."

"The place is good if you like quite villager style of living. The place is 2-3km off the main road. Only a couple of shops selling sundry goods. If you do not have your own transportation, then it could be problematic. Need to call the owner to fetch you in as he speak good English. To get supplies or food, need to travel a few kilometers to town. The single unit wooden house is the main thing that attracts me but the room is a bit small and crammed. I would expect them to clear the rubbish...

"It's a home that has been converted into a 5 room hotel. There is free parking. It's cramped, but there's parking. It's on the river, which is nice, but you'll hear river boats throughout the day and night. Because it is formerly a house, you'll hear the guests next door pretty easily. Overall, it's a nice, not too expensive place to stay. No complaints about the room, other than we could hear everything going on in the other rooms. If you like to sleep in, you might want to choose somewhere...

"Baan Khong Tara is relatively new Thai style hotel. Although it is located outside Ayutthaya Island, it is quite near Wat Chaiwattanaram (2km) and there are several ways to get to the city. The home-stay breakfast was great ! Services overall was excellent. There are good quality bikes for rent if you like cycling around. Roughly the place can accommodate 12 car parking. Value for money !"

"Comfortable homestay hosted by our great host who also cooked us a delicious thai breakfast! Location was decent with one of the best temples within cycling distance. Host leant us her bikes for free and arranged for rides around town from her contacts which was a plus in getting around."
