This was a great stay for our family. Two adults and 3 kids (two teens and a preteen) fit comfortably in one of the larger rooms. The rooms were simple, but clean and a great base for exploring the Lake District. Staff was very friendly and Breakfast was wonderful!

Overall a great stay and we'll go again given the opportunity, even if the shower was a bit tricky. Really friendly staff, evening dinner and breakfast delicious with big portions, even a small portion of the Cumbrian kept us going the whole day.

Easy and convenient parking. Friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent restaurant with great options for the whole family. The room was clean but hot as we happened to be there on a rare hot day. We had dinner there and the breakfast included with our stay was great. Many options for breakfast and were all popular with our family. Thank you.

Issues with wi-fi and shower

Excellent food and room was comfortable but wi-fi in the room was awful and the shower appeared to have only two Settings - ice cold or cold - even turned up To the hottest setting the water was cold.

Need to book restaurant in advance

Stayed one night on business On check in was confronted with my pet hate ie being told restaurant is busy and there was a 2.5 hour wait for a table. It’s great it’s busy and clearly attracting local trade, however, they need to contact customers on booking a room to advise to book a table in advance. Bar tables were also being reserved for food, hence limited space to sit and have a drink. Was shown to a small lounge which doubled as reception so quite a lot of through traffic Food when it arrived was good quality bar food and excellent value for money/ I stayed in a standard room and it was clean and functional.
