"Typical static caravan, it’s dated but it’s not run down. It reminds me of holidaying with my grand parents. It’s on the main road so there are times where it’s noisy - but that can’t be helped and it’s seriously not often. Site owners are thoroughly lovely, vey kind, knowledgeable and friendly. More than happy to approach you and have a genuine chat, not just pass the time or fake charm. The rest of the guests reflect this too. Plenty of return guests and on a glorious weekend weather wise...

The Lincoln Hotel

8/10 Good

"Very welcoming staff, who couldn't do enough for you. They even went out of their way to help me with my mobility scooter and explain parking to me. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. I cant say much about the amenities as we didn't use many. The bar had a lovely view of the cathedral and the drinks were reasonably priced. Our only concerns were the food, breakfast was run of the mill and even though we appreciated the chef cooking dinner on a night he was not providng service we were not impressed with the food. If we had thought we would have reviewed the menu before requesting dinner. The fish and chips were nothing special and as for options for someone who is dairy intollerant ... there wasn't any! Other allergies and intollerancies were catered for. And no flexibility for a basic simple meal! The sous vide lamb belly though very tender was all fat, and most of the accompaniments not appropriate for my special diet. I was actually ill all evening and the following morning. And the building looked tired and in need of refurbishment. Over all it was a lovely break and we would stay again if we come back to Lincoln."

"Great place at a great price. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the hotel has recently been refurbished. At first its location might seem a little removed from the obvious attractions, Cathedral, Castle etc. However a steady walk through the retail area and up the hill is fine. We are in our 70s and managed it in 30 minutes."

"I had stayed at the same establishment when run as a Travelodge and Ibis. It seems to have lost a little glamour from those days, but still serves its purpose. On checkout I did inform the management of the unbelievingly noisy occupants who had checked in late evening when most had gone to bed.....as I had. Shame about that. Spoil an otherwise enjoyable stay."

"The White Hart is ideally placed at the top of Steep Hill with easy access to the castle and cathedral. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance in addition to the hotel's own a la carte and bar food menus. The shower and other plumbing were excellent which was all the more impressive given the age of the hotel and it's location at such an elevation. The negative of our stay was the oppressive heat in our room despite the two fans provided. Planning restrictions prevent the installation of air conditioning. We were there during a minor heat wave, (25 / 26 degrees), I feel for those staying in those rooms when the temperature is even higher. We never ate at the hotel restaurant other than for breakfast which was very good, great fruit selection. The service was a bit disorganised however, there were plenty of staff available but perhaps the kitchen struggled to meet the demand with the facilities available."

"The hotel was ideally located a few miles out of Lincoln off a main road so was easy to find. The staff were really friendly and helpful and our room was conveniently located on the ground floor. There was no air con but we did have a fan which helped in the warm weather. A couple of stains on the carpet and a really dirty shower head could do with addressing. We eat in Damon’s Restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the staff were really helpful (apart from An initial massive overcharge on a drinks bill which they did sort for us) food was great - American diner type food 👍"
