"We stayed one night for the Kid Cudi concert. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the yummy classic hotel menu. The room was clean but dated. The TV appeared to only have cable so we could not watch youtube or any streaming services. Also, they only provide shampoo and conditioner in the shower, so bring your own body wash unless you want to use the mini soap bar that doubles as the hand soap."

"This was an astounding property! It is beautiful, occupying the grounds of a closed Jesuit seminary. The gardens, water features and art works were all so well done. It is five star all the way. The rooms are nicely appointed with some of the most unique and thoughtful minibar selections I have encountered. It is very comfortable, yet very modern. We ate on the patio of Doyle’s, their Irish pub and it was warm and inviting, while the food and drink hit the spot! It is a peaceful oasis about 25 minutes from the Detroit airport and the perfect spot to stay on that last night before flying out, although you’re going to wish you had an additional day and night to relax in the tranquility it exudes. You can also feel good about staying at the St. John’s Resort as it is a Humanitarian Hotel, supporting a number of worthwhile initiatives both in the US and abroad. Until we stayed there, I had no idea. There’s also a large conference center and golf course."

"It was good overall for the price. Unfortunately, the room smelled smoky. Also, maybe it's the norm now, but I was told that I had to request the room to be cleaned the night before I wanted it to be. I have often told the housekeeper in hotels that if I could just get clean towels that they wouldn't have to clean the room. At this hotel, they wouldn't do that. I had to go to the front desk to request them. So that was kind of inconvenient. On the plus side, the ladies who prepared breakfast and served breakfast were outstanding and very friendly and helpful. Most of the staff were friendly."
