"we only stayed here for 5 nights but property had everything we needed the kitchen was well equipped with a hob, microwave/oven, dishwasher and washing machine so ideal for longer stays. bathroom had walk in shower with good water pressure. Hotel is situated in the center of the town a short walk from the train station and close to shops,restaurants, pubs and also about 10/15 min walk to Brighton pier "

In lieu of dragging our luggage to a different room, we decided to stay where we were ( in the basement). That was a big mistake because we began to smell a strong odor of mold. Later on in the evening we had an issue trying to gain access to the room but the card key wouldn't work, we reported the issue and initially the card was recharged but after trying the recharged key card there was no luck gaining access. "Huge room and breakfast was amazing, truely four star. Walking distance to the Barbican area. Our only issue was we were on the top floor and there was no lift. 50 steps from the back car park. I am sure they would put a lift in if the building was not heritage listed. If you have mobility problems make sure to ask for a room close to the ground. Overall very impressive and good value for money all fittings and fixtures were high quality."

"Excellent and cooked to order breakfast with many options. Cocktail bar has some very interesting choices too. We stayed in the David Bowie shrine suite which is fabulous and fun for any fan but the bed is very “Low” so bear that in mind if you have an issue with knees or back. Decor - loved the blind and shower curtain in particular. This booking was a surprise from my husband and I couldn’t have been more delighted."

"Look it was a hell of lot cheaper than what I could find. I had no problem with the place although I can see why people would have. I wanted somewhere to crash and have a shower. Stayed for four nights. If you want quality look elsewhere, If you want friendly staff, good breakfast, a clean bed and a reasonable bathroom you can't fault it."
