"Great location in Chinatown within walking distance of the Buddha Tooth Relic, Sri Mariaman temples, several hawker centers, shopping and restaurants/cafes including Ya Kun Kaya for the traditional kaya toast breakfast. Hotel is modern, clean and connected to the MRT station which made it easy to travel from Changi Airport. Rooms are on smaller side, but efficient and not unusual for a major Asian city center property. Best room feature is a separate filtered water tap to refill flasks. There is a Cheers convenience store directly in front of main hotel lobby driveway for sundries, cold drinks, etc. Also a 7-Eleven across the street. This was a great home base for our first time visiting Singapore. Would stay again. "

"Very posh, 100 yr old English hotel from colonial times. Beautiful grand staircases and marble. Lobby and rooms felt like Great Gatsby era. We had the balcony room on the 6th fl with a view of Marina Bay Sands. Breakfast was unbelievable! Everything you could possibly image from western, Asian and Indian cuisines. The room was pretty small but had everything that we needed. Beautiful polished wood furniture. Great firm mattress and my favorable Toto toilet with wash and dry modules!"

"The breakfast was outstanding with the staff very friendly. The room was a good size for 3 of us and we were a provided with a bed for each one of us. It was also very clean and comfortable. I stayed in the cot, and I still had a good nights rest. "

While the property is slightly on the outskirts, the location is still very convenient—within walking distance to many fantastic spots, including Marina Bay. The suite was outstanding, offering all the comforts of home and more. The inclusion of a washer and dryer was an unexpected and much-appreciated touch. I would highly recommend this property to any traveler, and I will absolutely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Singapore."
