Taughannock Falls State Park

A perfect waterfall on its way to Cayuga Lake. The trees provide scale.

The park gets its name from its main attraction the Taughannock Falls which is a 215 ft waterfall in the park. However there are many smaller cascades as you take the trail to see the Taughannock falls. Close to the park is the Cayuga lake with a marina and boat launch and you can see it from the gorge and rim trails in the park. #waterfalls #statepark #parks

At 215 ft, Taughannock falls is tallest single drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains and is taller than Niagara Falls. You can get spectacular views of the Cayuga lake from above the gorge and rim trails and can take pictures from both the bottom of the falls or by taking a trail or driving to a viewing area opposite the falls. #waterfalls #statepark #parks

To see the Taughannock falls up close first u must park ur car at the Taughannock falls gorge trail parking lot. Then hike up the stream all the way to the waterfalls.
