Nice staff, location is ideal, close to subway and all major tourist attractions.
The property is impeccably located with a lovely kind staff and a magical aura that adds to your stay in Uzbekistan I'd stay there again many times over....great place
Great experience overall. Staff always ready to help, the Uzbekistan is one of those you could spend all day in the lobby and witness a chapters of a hipothetyc hotel sitcom.
The hotel’s location is excellent, but the property itself isn’t very well maintained. The first room we were given had a leaking washbasin, a loose and shaky toilet seat, no water stopper for the bathtub, and, worst of all, no hot water when the temperature was –1°C. They moved us to another room the next day, which resolved the water and stopper issues, but the heater there was an old 51-year-old Soviet unit with a complicated operating method. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were friendly, but overall, this is probably the worst 4-star hotel I’ve stayed in.
Location, right in the centre of the city. The price of this four star hotel is very reasonable. It’s dated and decor not very attractive, but it is ideal for sightseeing and there are lots of dining options around
Lovely hotel and staff. Very good breakfast. AS for the room very good bathroom, but one should remember this is an old, well-maintained hotel.

It's like staying in a piece of history, for not a terrible price. And the balconies have a great view of the city. But the rooms themselves were a bit shoddy.
I stayed 1 nights at Hotel Uzbekistan in Feb 2024. Hotel Uzbekistan is a great hotel in Tashkent. Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel Uzbekistan is next to Amir Timur Square and Amir Timur Metro Station. Great place to stay. I recommend Hotel Uzbekistan for visitors to Tashkent.

Pleasantly surprised. It’s not a fine hotel by any means, but it’s a good place to stay for a night or two. The staff were very helpful and checked me in at 3 AM after my flight. The location is good and the building itself is special. And it was less than 1/5 the cost of the Intercontinental.
Great location. The concrete facade is imposing and that's the attraction. My room was very spacious although not perfect, it was very nice and acceptable.
Currently the reception area is being modernised and I was told that rooms will get modernised as well.
The room and the hotel are dated. For example, the carpet throughout was dirty and worn, bathtub was so high that a senior would find it extremely difficult to enter, the basin was draining slowly, the AC was switched off, the safe deposit box was not operational, etc. (When I complained, the reception staff noted down but could not help. An honest worker whispered to me to not insist for safe deposit box repair and risk my cash/documents getting trapped!.)
On positive side, the hotel is at a great location and is familiar. Many major attractions and great restaurants are withing walking distances. Many tourist buses and public transportation are available right there. Breakfast was not luxurious but was fairly adequate in terms of variety and local flavors.
Seniors should be cautious. Otherwise, it is okay, if you have to spend a night or two.
Brilliant stay in one of my favourite buildings in the world.
Only minor feedback would be to have more plug points near to the bed in the rooms. Also, there were only 8-person tables at breakfast which meant I had to share with strangers which is not ideal for a solo traveller.
