"We were hoping to spend a little time in the casino for our stay, however as soon as you walk in you are hit in the face with an overwhelming cigarette smell. It was absolutely awful. Couldn't even get to our room without having to go through the smell. We had hoped then that we could park in the parking garage and avoid having to walk through that smell to get in and out of the hotel, but they said no if we parked in the garage we still had to walk all the way around and in through the front area to get to the elevators. There was no going around that awful smell. So we opted to just stay in our room once we got to it. We did not want to go through the smell anymore than we absolutely had to. We didn't even get to enjoy a walk along the water because we did not want to go through the smoke smell another time just to get outside. So during checkout would have to be the last time we endured it. Outside in the parking lot you could smell marijana, but at least that was outside. The room wasn't super clean, as the carpets were quite dirty, but clean enough. It was old but it was actually very quiet in the room which was very nice. Overall it was at least a good night sleep, but couldn't enjoy any amenities without the assault of smoking smell. Staff was very nice. Checkout was the last time we had to smell the onslaught of smoke. Unfortunately will not ever be back."
"This is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast Hotel. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and filling! The variety of courses and tastes were first rate. And the 1870's Eastlake house and furnishings create a magical experience. I highly recommend staying here for your stay in Vicksburg."
WaterView Casino & Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
2/10 Terrible
"Never checked in because I didn’t read the fine print that nobody under 21 could stay here. I was traveling with two 19 year olds. It should really have that info somewhere other than opening another page to read the fine print. Made even a box you have to check before you checkout. The area was pretty run down, so maybe it was for the best we didn’t stay here anyways. Can’t speak on what the inside of the hotel looked like since I never went in."
"Beautiful B&B. Area felt safe. Beds were comfortable and pillows were very comfy. Spiral staircase needs more lighting. There were several trip hazards but better lighting could help with that. It was very nice sitting on the porch at night watching the storm roll in. Breakfast was ok. Servers did an excellent job. I wouldn’t have a problem staying here again. "
"Parking was good, staff was good. The pictures online of this hotel looks much nicer than it is. Room needs updating and fresh paint, bathroom was in need of repair. I paid and requested a deluxe handicap accessible room and got a standard king room. I am handicapped and just had a heart surgery 5 days prior and needed the shower, because it was difficult to lift my leg over the tub. The walls had spots all over and looked like splatttered blood, or something brown slung all over it. You can tell the staff try to clean the best they can, but it’s hard when things are falling apart. Breakfast was just cereal oatmeal and waffles, a few muffins , juice and coffee. Very minimal.
Until they can upgrade, we won’t be staying here again.
Whoever does the reservation for Hotel.com needs to pay attention when someone requests a handicap room, we don’t ask for it for the fun of it! I have stayed in much nicer hotels for what I paid to get a room in Vicksburg for this room! I am very disappointed with hotel.com.!!"
"Room was very dated lamps did not work no remote for tv bathroom door would not close no hot water mattress on bed was sloped fell off bed while sleeping terrible experience "
"The staff was great, very helpful with everything we asked.
Our room was not great. Didn't feel clean and relaxing like other La Quintas. I didn't notice it until the morning but the fire sprinkler in ceiling was leaking and had black mold around it. Won't stay at this La Quinta again.
I will say, they refunded our stay fully with the power outage from the storm and the leak in the room."
