"Firstly I must say the staff were always helpful and Oliver who worked at The Prickly Pear, lovely, always a smile on his face and made amazing mojitos! The communal areas are very clean and modern, however my room was not exactly up to the same standard. Maybe I’ve just been lucky in other 4 star hotels I’ve stayed in, but normally I would expect shampoo at the very least, but that’s not so bad. However being placed next to the games room, was awful, when people were in there at night it sounded like they were in the room with me, so loud! And the machines don’t get turned off until 11pm. The elevators are extremely near to this room as well and despite it being a fire door to my room and the games room, this was propped open majority of the time. This also meant I could hear guests coming and going at all hours of the morning from the elevators. The air con would sometimes make quite loud noises for no apparent reason during the night, which was difficult to sleep through. It’s a shame because the staff were nice enough and the area is lovely (minus all the road works currently)"

"Amazing views of water and sunsets. Nice pool (but too cold to use in April). Very good breakfast. Had 2 dinners in restaurant and they were excellent. Our room was small but had a nice balcony to watch sunsets from. A downside is that the walls aren’t very soundproof. Good location. Only 10-15 min walk to beach and tours. There is road construction by the Adeneau bus stop so you will have to use the temporary bus stop about 500m uphill from the hotel. The views, staff, and restaurant/pool were so good we’d recommend staying here!"

"Had a lovely short break here, the staff couldn't be more helpful, it is very basic, but you get what you pay for. Room was cleaned everyday, was no hairdryer in the room but a quick ask at the 24hr reception got us one with no issues. The restaurant wasn't open as it was being refurbed (we was out of season) but the bar offered a decent breakfast and snack menu"

"This hotel has one of the best locations on the Island. On arrival it was a speedy check in and access to room. The staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms are clean with usual tea making facilities and filtered water machines available in corridor. Bathroom is disappointing, no shelves for towels or toiletries. The shower facility is inefficient. The large overhead shower is not practical for having a decent shower. Too high up so cannot be adjusted, needed descaling so was squirting water out of the cubicle. No shower mats. Seating facility in the reception is fine with an adjoining Cafe staffed by pleasant staff. Menu was a bit odd, scrambled egg on toast comes with a deluge of chickpeas! At the back of the hotel there is another restaurant. Only 1 visit for breakfast. A Continental breakfast laid out and a separate area-for cooked breakfast. In my opinion, not a hospitable way to have breakfast, a bit disjointed and not good value for money. Choice of bread was limited and no option for traditional Maltese fare -bread, pasties? etc. Bearing in mind this was April, the pool and area was not open, however it was sunny and warm - it would have been nice to sit/lie on a sun bed reading or just taking in the amazing view! Airport transfers were easily arranged here, prompt and reliable. Such potential, just needs a bit more thinking about guests’ comforts and enjoyment."

"Such a lovely location for exploring Mellieha and a beautiful view of the parish church. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The buffet breakfast was yummy and the quality of the evening buffet was very good."

"Need new beds and the air conditioning was preset and couldn’t be changed. So the room at night was hot. Nice rooftop pool. It’s all stairs so bringing luggage in is a hassle. The luggage room is self serve so people can move your bags around and have access to them."

"Stayed at Lure hotel for two nights and overall pleasant stay. The room was spacious, shower generous and enjoyed use of the indoor pool area which had enough loungers for number of guests and a steam room - very relaxing. Hotel felt modern and clean. Staff were very pleasant and great service. Breakfast was also nice with a continental ‘3 tier’ plates of pasteries/ muffins on top, meats/cheese/rolls on middle and fruit on the bottom. This was like a shared starter then getting to pick from the hot food which was good with omelets, English breakfast, muesli or eggs Benedict/royale options. Day one 3-tier option given to us had meats and cheeses we didn’t really like so ordered a full English breakfast the next day… only to have options we did like day two (Brie with ham and a beef meet) and couldn’t manage it all! Nice choices though and tip to say if you don’t like certain meats or cheeses (eg cheese with fruit seems popular which we don’t eat, and another cheese had truffle in it which unlike most people I can’t stand) Only draw back was for us the bed was too hard and the modern light switches are all led lights and don’t switch off - with 4 sockets across the room; these made the room quite bright at night even when we took the key card out to see if they would switch off - for us therefore wasn’t the best nights sleep and would have struggled if staying for more nights and would have mentioned it. Also only 1 hook in the bathroom for all used towels and robes."
