"This traditional merchant house converted hotel is lovely. We own the entire building with two floors. One tiny living room on the ground floor, a bath house, a separate toilet near the entrance, along with a spacious bathroom with the second living room on the second floor. It’s airy and full of scent of wood. However, the bedroom is facing the road without sound proof windows, it was very noisy throughout the night. "

"This hotel was very clean and looked very new. The room was really big by Japanese standards and the layout was great! Breakfast was a good value as well. Check in/out was easy. I'd recommend this hotel instead of some other ones that are closer to the train station because those looked rather dated by comparison. This property was a 20 min walk from the station or a 7 min taxi ride. There's plenty of restaurants around the hotel. It will likely be my go to when I'm in Tsuchiura again."

"It’s an older hotel, not located anywhere convenient or near major sightseeing spots, but quite nice. Hardly any foreign tourists when I stayed, so if you want to experience the good old Japan (that is becoming increasingly difficult to find), here is the excellent option."

"Unfortunately communication wasn’t good before arriving. Adverting says there’s an airport shuttle. But when we requested to have it pick us up, we didn’t get a response 24 hours prior to arrival. So we took a taxi. Upon arrival, it was a self check in and the instructions were not clear to us. It was getting dark. Luckily another guest came by and called someone.
