"Spectacular location, especially to enjoy the Sunday night market. Lots of delicious restaurants within walking distance, as well as a gorgeous temple. Very kind staff, super helpful."

"This charming hotel is decorated in the colonial style with a Thai touch: lots of flowers! The staff is lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The lower lobby is like a garden where we enjoyed breakfast every day. (There is also a breakfast room where the buffet is located.) The location in the Old City is just off the western end of the Sunday Walking Street, which contains many shops and eateries. Just a word to those who don't do stairs: there's no elevator, so ask for a room on the first floor (although the staff will take care of your luggage regardless of where your room is located)."

"My stay at Makka was a lovely break in beautiful surroundings. Although at the heart of the old town in Chiang Mai, and within walking distance of many of the attractions, the hotel itself is quiet and serene and the main courtyard space with water features and shaded areas made for the ideal introduction to the property. Staff were efficient and friendly at both check-in and check-out and the room was comfortable and extremely clean with bottles of water and soda all included. I didn't sample the breakfast on this occasion but the space set aside for it again looked lovely. All in all, I had a fabulous stay at Makka - many thanks to all of the team who made it so relaxing."
