Silver Sands Beach is a sandy stretch in the midst of forests on the Fife Coast. It is a serene haven away from city life, where families can enjoy a pleasant day out. Appreciate the mix of grass, sand and woodland making this beach scenic and entertaining.

Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere at this beach and set up a space for your family on the sand. Have a picnic on one of the wooden tables while listening to background sounds of whooshing waves and playing children. Ride a bike along the Millennium Cycleways Network, which runs through the Fife countryside.

Bring the kids to practice their swing at the putting green. Watch them play on the bouncy castle that is available in summer. Relax with a drink and views of the water from the café. Kayaking, sailing and surfing are among the popular watersports activities in this bay.

The region is a popular walking area. Follow the Fife Coastal Path along the beach and into the woods. Sit at a wooden bench and watch people and wildlife go by.

Enjoy the view of dramatic cliffs and the islands of Inchmickery and Inchcolm. The latter contains the impressive Inchcolm Abbey. Take a tour of the island and the 12th-century monastery and spot the gray seals, dolphins and puffins that live here.

The beach is free to access and open year-round. Let your kids swim to cool down in the summer, when lifeguards are on duty. Take the family pet to the dog exercise area. The beach, which is cleaned regularly, has restroom and first aid facilities.

Silver Sands Beach is in the Aberdour area just west of Burntisland. Take a train from Burntisland Railway Station to the beach in 20 minutes. The 3.5-mile (6 kilometer) drive should take around 10 minutes. Pay to drop off your car in the large parking lot behind the beach.
