"Very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble for him. Lovely quiet room at the rear, although I would imagine rooms at the front are quiet too as this is a peaceful crescent in Scarborough. Great facilities in the room, shower gel etc. tea/coffee making stuff too. Books to read in the room… very tastefully decorated & homely. We would certainly stay here again without hesitation. We were room only but there are plenty of places to get breakfast nearby. Train station a 5 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants & bars/pubs all within walking distance."

"We had a lovely room on the 3rd floor but it was very hot as a result of the recent high temperatures. This made sleep difficult until the early hours of the morning when the weather cooled. All the staff we encountered were great - very helpful, pleasant and cheerful. Breakfast was standard but absolutely no complaints. It is a very old property but some way of keeping the upper rooms cooler in high summer temperatures would be a major improvement.. perhaps by increasing the roof insulation"

"Friendly staff the room wasnt as clean as exspected the beds & towels & toilet were spotless just the scurting boards were very dusty water in shower wasnt going down the drain was blocked just needed the last touches to make it perfect"

"Beautiful location for the wedding we went to. The food and staff were excellent. However, the hotel is in the process of refurbishment and some rooms are definitely better than others. The staff work really hard but they could definitely do with a few more of them. Overall a lovely stay but for the room price of approximately £200 per nights I would expect a little more in my room than I got."

"Lovely hotel with old school charm and wonderful helpful staff. Very dog friendly and made our dog very welcome with treats and even breakfast sausage. The breakfast was outstanding being freshly cooked with high quality produce. A really thoughtful touch was the offer of tableware to enjoy a takeaway in the room (and enjoy the view) which again was really dog friendly as it can be hard finding eateries that welcome dogs. Location great just over the road from South Cliff gardens which are stunning. No problem finding free street parking nearby. Will definitely return. Thanks."
