Top São Martinho Hotel Reviews

Reid's Palace, A Belmond Hotel, Madeira

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

There have been several extensions to this classic hotel built on the cliffside overlooking Funchal harbour. All tastefully done and very classy. The place to stay chosen by celebrities and royaltyas evidenced from the photos and memorabilia in one of the lounge areas. This hotel has a different restaurant for each meal as well as its own Italian restaurant with spectacular views in the grounds. The gardens are rightly famous and taking afternoon tea at Reid's is a treat for non residents as...

Melia Madeira Mare

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

We had a very pleasant stay in the Melia last week. The staff were friendly and very helpful Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and there was always a chef on hand to make something if it was not already on offer. The hotel is nicely situated with an indoor and an outdoor pool. These are very well looked after and towels, sunbeds and umbrellas are available. There are plenty of restaurants of a good quality within walking distance of the hotel. Reid's Hotel is also...

Pestana Village Garden Hotel

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

Our 7th visit to the beautiful Miramar /Village Hotel and each time it gets better. The setting in lush gardens sets the scene for a really relaxing time. Our room was great with spectacular sea views (we were lucky enough to see a whale blow, one afternoon) This time we ate in all four restaurants [Luigi's- Italian, A Vila- Buffet, Adego- Rustic Madeiran and the Miramar- Gourmet] as the 99 euro offer was excellent value. Breakfast was also an excellent meal with great variety to suit all...

Three House Hotel

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

The Three House Hotel is a glow up to a Madeira experience. As a destination the importance of the cruise community, the frequent visitors and the role Funchal has played in retirement plans, it has not been a forefront plan for me or most of my pal.. The hotel, the offer and the location to the action changed everything on whats is on offer in this wonderful place. This design forward spot is home to a set of wonderful aparthotel suites that allow a resident neighbourhood feel to the...

Arts In Hotel Conde Carvalhal

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

Only 18 rooms, all clean and new in a purpose built extension, with large open stairways and lobbies filled with art work. The staff are situated in an office which is tucked away as opposed to a large hotel reception desk in a lobby. They were very helpful should you need them, but it was easy to never see them at all, which gave the impression of staying in private apartments. Personal letters welcoming us and giving information about the hotel were left in our room and the details about the...

Pestana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort Hotel

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

This was our first trip to Madeira, and we found the hotel lived up to our expectations in all ways. We were unable to have a sea view, but looking out from our 18th floor room across part of the town, which was beautifully lit, and the mountains, was so lovely that we didn't close our curtains, just so we could look out if we awoke in the night. A joyful experience that we hope to repeat at some time

Hotel Quinta da Penha de França

Funchal

10/10 Excellent

We really liked this hotel. We arrived before check-in time but our room was ready, clean and comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawers and lots of clothes hangers which isn't always the case. As we had left home at 3.30am we were ready for an early lunch and although the restaurant didn't open until 12.30 they were happy to serve us something at 12.10. Madeira is very hilly and to go anywhere from the hotel requires a steep climb up to the main road, this wasn't a problem for us, and...
