"Love: the spa, the soaking pool, the fascinating history of the property, the art everywhere, the gardens, the live music, the quirky little variety of places to eat and drink! Some of the staff were amazing, especially at the spa. Needs improvement: mattresses, pillows, bedding, bedroom rugs, room furniture all need updates, are pretty worn. Rug in room is threadbare. Staff seemed irritated when I asked if there was more coffee/creamer (one or both empty each morning at 10/1030am). Need more vegetables and healthy choices on the menu, it was rough on my belly to eat bar food for all meals for 3 days. I also didn't love commentary from waitstaff about ordering a dessert by myself. "

"Dear management, teach your employees how to handle situations with customer complaints AND don't leave a employee alone on a busy Saturday night. April 11th 1030 at night 4th floor, there was a middle school sports team with teenage boys that were running up and down the hallway throughout the whole entire hotel banging on doors. They were also in the swimming pool throwing the football from one side of the room to the other. There were several complaints yet nothing was done. There was no way to get in touch with the coach because the front desk guy seemed to not know or be able to handle the situation. Completely ridiculous! What if there was an emergency? How do your employees handle situations when they're there by themselves. I frequent Portland often and I definitely will not return back to this hotel."

"This is a great place to stay. The staff is wonderful. Always ready to help you if you need any help the rooms are clean. I do wish that they had plates and silverware and stuff in the rooms but I understand why they don't otherwise I give them 100% great. Robin Smith"

The staff informed us that their system is very old and will take time to replace, so please be cautious before booking. The male staff member at the reception was not helpful at all. "This was our 3rd time in a 5-6 week span and it was the least favorite one. The bed we had was so firm it was hard to sleep, both mornings there was not coffee except for a machine in lobby. With all that, We will stay again & normally this is our favorite place when coming through town. Worth staying here even when they have a bad day! "
