For anyone looking for a small beautiful hidden gem resort close to San Ignacio, I'd highly recommend Villa Massis in Bullet Tree Falls! It's only a quick 10 min drive into San Ignacio. We had a 2-bedroom suite for the 4 of us and it was perfect. We booked airport transportation, transfer to Placencia, several rides into San Ignacio and all of our tours with them. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to help us.

This place is a hidden gem, we sprung for the villa and it was well worth it. Missing this place as we’re in San Pedro, very new with all the amenities needed for a relaxing getaway. Villa Massis brings the amenities to the jungle, we loved seeing monkeys on the property. The staff and food were excellent, resort offers a very intimate dining experience. Don’t hesitate to book, highlight of our trip.

Wonderful Stay

The setting was lovely, the restaurant excellent and the staff were even more wonderful. Smiling faces and genuine warmth! Helpful in every way! There’s a gate that gets locked at night, so be sure to let the staff know if you’ll be out after hours.

Villa Massis is a hidden gem. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean. The deck, pool area and gardens are gorgeous. Mel is an amazing hostess and chef who met my gluten free needs. Larry, our friendly host is extremely knowledgeable about the treasure that is Belize.

This was the most amazing room I have ever stayed at, like a home away from home. They really thought of everything! Pool could have been a bit warmer for February but the food was amazing, service and room and balcony just the best ever and so spacious. We were only there 3 nights but cause I could have stayed longer to really linger around the property.

Villa Massis in Belize is a true jungle hideaway, run by a friendly family. It's a small paradise surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant wildlife sounds, including howler monkeys and toucans. The place shines with comfortable, clean, and well-appointed accommodations. We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment, which was new, spotless, and equipped with everything we needed. The communal dinners, expertly prepared by Mel, are a highlight – truly delicious. Staying here feels less like being a guest and more like being part of a family. If you're looking for a genuine and cozy jungle experience, Villa Massis delivers on all fronts.

Villa Massis is a Must!

Villa Massis is impressive. It has a wonderful jungle setting, yet it’s so close to town (10 minutes). The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. A spiral staircase led to our tastefully appointed loft complete with two bedrooms, kitchen, walk-in closet and bathroom. The setting is quiet, and the host is knowledgeable and accommodating. We highly recommend Villa Massis!

Spacious and beautifully decorated suite. Location is peaceful and 10 minutes from San Ignacio in a bend in the river- with Howlers and Toucans. We stayed at Villa Massis so we could see Caracol. The owner -Larry was on site and greeted us upon arrival, showed us around the property, and gave us tips on Belize from the "Ultimate Belize Bucket List- book that he had authored! Awesome.

My partner and I didn't quite know what ro expect from "luxury" accommodations in the jungles of Belize. Especially, as a gay couple, we can never be sure of the locals reception of us. We booked the Luxury Villa room. It was spacious and spotless with a wonderful shower and a comfortable king-size bed. An enormous veranda where you can enjoy a cocktail from the well-stocked mini bar overlooks the pool. There is also a comfortable sitting room and a huge kitchen area where you could prepare your own meals. The staff, Mel, Elvin, Lucy and Dan are absolutely the most welcoming people you would want to have looking after you while on vacation. There isn't enough space in a review like this to tell how often their truly genuine hospitality made our trip to Belize one of the most memorable vacations we have ever taken. Mel's meals deseve special mention What a fantastic cook she is! She even pepared a dinner just for us. There are plenty of places to eat in the area but don't waste your tastebuds going anywhere else. Mel is magical. Our day trips were flawlessly organized by Dan, who even took a day to give us a personal tour of the area, including the local market, Big Rock Falls and the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich. Larry has done a wonderful job creating an oaisis of comfort in the jungle. If you want a relaxing vacation with the option of adventurous day trips and outstanding meals this is the place for you.
