"Unique historic property. A restaurant with rooms … definitely not your usual chain hotel room. In a building hundreds of years old the floors and stairs are very wonky … so mind your step! We loved the character of the buildings and our room (no. 6 … not all rooms have wood panelling this dark!) … it was spacious and had everything we needed. And the food in the restaurant was great … both for evening meal and breakfast."

"The facilities and amenities were excellent a coffee maker with fresh coffee, fresh milk, but also quality teas and upon arrival fresh cookies. Those are the little touches together with friendly smiling staff that lifts any stay to the next standard. On top of it all a good nights stay, gorgeous breakfast and a very tasty dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My partner is an ex-hotelier and was as impressed as I was!"

"The property was very clean and comfortable and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Just a couple of observations . If a client is using derogatory foul audible language aimed at women in the bar area they should be asked to stop by the manager/bar tender - it’s not pleasant to be subjected to this if you’re sitting quietly trying to enjoy your own drink . It would be great value & a positive accolade for a simple continental breakfast to be included in the nightly rate instead of...

"During my 3 night stay during August we had an evening meal on the Sunday, whilst eating a number of flies constantly landed on our food,the same happened whilst eating breakfast the following morning. The breakfast was buffet style, uncovered and was inundated by flies on the food. I informed a member of staff of the situation, her reply was ' you get flies in the countryside'.
