"The staff here were wonderful; helpful and friendly and surpassed expectations. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink which was refreshing and unexpected. Check in was easy. The aircon was good even in the extreme heatwave. The food in the restaurant was exceptional and the quirky house cocktails very intresting and enjoyable. We had a twin room deluxe with balcony and it was nice to sit out in the evening. The toiletries were high quality and water in our room each day. Had breakfast one day of our stay - it was fresh and plentiful. There was a drain smell that was off putting at various times - we mentioned it and staff tried to Ameliorate this but it still occurred each day - we presumed due to the heatwave. Did not use the spa or rooftop bar due to timings."
"Good value for money in a good location. A little bit difficult at night if there are any issues such as with your key as there are no staff after 10pm, there’s no courteousy phone to contact anyone which is difficult for international guests. But over all it’s a good choice."
"The hotel was clean and bright. It has a younger vibe, a bit art deco, you might say. The staff were VERY helpful and friendly. Thank you! And the reception was open when I arrived at a late hour due to a transportation snafu. In the midst of the heatwave everyone was talking about, she offered me a glass of cold water, which I gratefully accepted. Such a hospitable touch!
The room was pleasing, again that art deco look. I liked it, even if in some ways the design wasn't terribly practical. The compact space left no room for a desk or writing area. The mirror over the sink was too high for someone not tall. The sink was around the corner from the bathroom, not in it.
That stuff might not matter to everyone, so stay there anyway! The room was appealing, there's a comfortable sitting area downstairs, and an outside area too. Again, the friendly staff, always a plus. There is a welcoming atmosphere. And it's close to the main rail station as well as right on a streetcar line. Convenient! Recommended."
