"This was my second stay and I was just was blown away as the first time. The Awashima Hotel is a true gem of a location and establishment. The boat ride from the shore to the island is scenic and pleasant, the island itself features a fun aquarium with shows, a wonderful walking path ideal for a stroll or early-morning birding, and adventurous guests can attempt the steep climb up to the island's shrine. "Close to train by taxi (7 min) or hotel shuttle (only 3x in the am 4x afternoon). Walking distance to convenient store. Close to bigger towns on one train. Would not recommend room service. Breakfast is pricey but delicious. This hotel is clean, staff really helpful."
