This is in a wonderful area of the Catskills with a creek streaming in the back if you wish to visit it. I've stayed a few times and I've seen many people take their dogs to Black Bear. They love the treed property for walks. It's close to farm stands or antiquing in the various towns along route 23.
The surrounding trees and stream in the back make this property my choice over others every time I come here. The price is reasonable and rooms are clean and comfortable.
Black Bear lodge is a great getaway and excellent base to explore the area as it’s so central. We had excellent communication ahead of our check in, a real warm welcome and helpful with dining tips.
The room was spacious and comfortable.
The lodge is just off the main road but if we heard a car we didn’t notice, it’s so quiet around there.
The place is ideal if you’re looking to escape a few days, there was fresh coffee and pastries in the morning and loads of free parking.
thanks for your hospitality 👍
As a little motel close to a festival venue, the Black Bear Lodge was just what I was looking for. I was prepared for it to be small and basic and for the decor to be somewhat dated. What I found was a motel that was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The innkeeper was delightful. I would stay there again.
The room was very clean and well appointed with a fridge and microwave. Great tv selections for watching tv at night. There's a beautiful stream in the back of the property and you can enjoy coffee, fruit or cereal out on the patio in front of your room. There's a short drive to Prattsville Diner and Jim's All American supermarket.
