Older but still definitely worthy
This is a well kept older Mexican hotel. Boutique ish... It is very well maintained for it's age but has some quirky aspects like the stairwells. Small and twisty. If you have mobility issues you may want to consider another hotel. The pool is upfront and on the small side. But beyond that this was an excellent pick. Sergio at the front desk was great at check in and every time we came back from outings he made us feel very wellcome. The rooms are a typical size with comfortable beds. Good air-conditioning, hot water, Smart TV's and good wifi. The doors have a standard key with a massive "K" attached to them. LOL But we just left the key with the front desk everytime we went out and picked it up when we got back. This was never an issue with the 24 hour front desk and kind workers. The noise from the stairwell and surrounding area does creap in at night but it was nothing that kept me awake or woke me up. Centrally located and only one block from the famous 12th ave party street it was surrounded by good restaurants and bars. 1 block to the beach and 15 min walk to the Cozumel ferry. When you book this hotel understand that it is an independant older Mexican Boutique hotel and not a Major Hotel chain hotel. If you do you will love your stay here and not sweat what it might not have when compared to the big guys.

this hotel was awesome! i would mostly definitely stay in this hotel again. the staff was very friendly. the front desk employees were always nice to my husband and i. the location was absolutely perfect. it was less than a minute walk to the ocean and right in the center of all the shops, restaurants and clubs. It was a 10 minute walk from the ADO bus station was used to get dropped off and picked up for the airport. It was also a 15 minute walk to Plaza Antigua which is where our excursion bus picked us up from to go to Xcaret. My husband and I liked how calm the hotel was. It was a very calm vibe. I was shocked how even though i the hotel was next to clubs there honestly was never a noise issue with loud music or people. We did sleep with the AC on so i’m sure that helped block out noise. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.

We had a great stay. The staff was great. Yes, the clubs are loud at night, but with earplugs, we slept great. The phone and some lights in the bathroom didn't work, but we would definitely go back. We stayed 10 nights.

Just a week away
Well, where should I start? First of all, after we checked into our room, there’s no toilet paper,towels,shampoo,body wash….the receptionist Sergio was nice enough to go up and down brought all the stuff for us. Then ,there’s no hot water, they told us just to wait for few minutes, we basically waited for like 2 days!! ( too long??) after whole day traveling, with no hot water we quickly had a cold shower then tried to sleep,hell no, the club near by was thumping music so loud until 3 am. So, if you are a person who likes to take a cold shower and love to sleep in a night club , this hotel is totally right for you. Btw, the stairs actually are quite dangerous.

This is a very cute hotel . Located in the heart of playa it’s close to everything you might want or need . Checking in was super easy and the staff were super friendly and helpful . The pool is very nice with a beautiful waterfall. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool which was pretty cool . The room was spacious clean and cozy . This will be our go to place in playa from now on .

I stayed at Kinbe Hotel from Feb 17 - Feb 24 2021 and really enjoyed my stay. The location is perfect -- two minutes walking from the beach and right on the main street with all the bars and restaurants. The rooms are spacious -- both the bedroom and bathroom. The balconies are comfortable too, and the beach bag in the bedrooms is a nice touch. Enrique, Mikaela, Alex and the rest of the staff were all very hospitable and helpful with useful suggestions. The bed was comfortable, the A/C worked perfectly, and the shower was nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful stay!
This is beautiful relaxing boutique hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were cleaned daily and the beds are very comfortable and I am picky! Located in a nice area close to the beach. Will stay again!

Beautiful boutique hotel in Playa
Beautiful hotel right in the middle of Playa Del Carmen (the locals call it Playa). The staff was super friendly and the hotel was very beautiful. Loved the shower and the balcony my room had. Will be staying here again.

Hotel was ok and staff were pretty good , but noisy with metal stairwell u could here everyone move in the hotel and not much only bedrooms and pool , why do they call it an hotel ????

I love this hotel perfect for single female travelers and couples best location if you want to be steps away from 5 th Avenue Kinbe is sophisticated serene quiet with great water pressure and a very cool indoor pool . I mention water pressure because I’ve traveled in Mexico for 40 years and having a great shower is rare No food but across the street Tony has great breakfast and fresh juices very reasonably priced Actually food is everywhere and the beach is a 3 minute walk away it was a great stay

Nice Boutique Hotel.

Decent hotel, no hot water
Its an nice hotel, but for $100 a night, I expected hot water in the shower. The staff was great and when I complained they said they’ll look into it, but there was never any hot water. After a tiring day of walking and snorkeling not having hot water to shower really really puts a damper on the whole experience of the hotel.

You made no other complain so we thought that everything was ok. In the shower we have a mixer tap maybe the problem was using it because we had hot water! Best regards

Unique boutique hotel
The hotel is unique with a three story waterfall. And the location, between fifth and the beach, right in the center of things. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great hotel near the beach!!!
This was a great last minute choice. Service was great even with a mistake on my booking date. I had a great balcony with the pool below, the best shower with a great tall waterfall shower head. The AC was cold and the bed was comfy. Well stocked mini bar and snacks, beach items if needed. I would certainly recommend

Sweet boutique hotel, amazing staff.
The Kinbe hotel is about a block from the beach and a block south of busy 5th Ave. The staff are extremely helpful and incredibly friendly!!! Stefanie, Jorge, Sam, Enrique, Marcelo are all so kind, eager and willing to assist with any of your million questions and needs. I really appreciated the security of the hotel, leave your key at the front desk when you leave, pick it up when you return. No outside guests, and as a single woman traveler I felt very safe. Safe provided to lock up your valuables. The clubs are very loud but my room was quiet, cool with the air conditioner, dark and cozy and sleeping in was easy. Bedding was comfy, rain shower was awesome, lots of water pressure. All in all I would rate the hotel about a 4 out of 5, as basic updating is required, and it cloud use the little touches, perhaps a welcoming flower in the room or snack. The pool is super relaxing and I loved that the waterfall is on all day, only wish it would be on at night but it saves electricity so that makes sense.

Central and comfortable
Very pleasant stay. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The room is fine with a nice balcony over the pool. Only comment would be to maybe have better lighting in the bathroom. But that's minor. Very nice stay. Will stay there again.

Great location, remodeled.
Good price. Newly remodeled very contemporary rooms. Cool vibe. Mini bar and coffee in room and great a/c. Hotel is in middle of the tourist area in Playa Car. Many restaurants and shopping everywhere. Beach is 1 block away. No elevator and rooms on 2nd and 3rd floor.

Perfect Playa location
This was our first experience at a boutique hotel in Mexico. Usually stay at all-inclusive. But after our experience here we will be boutique hotel devotees. Loved everything about this hotel.....staff, location, cleanliness, use of beach clubs, amenities. Only reason not an overall 5 was because the wifi was not consistent.

Bueno, Limpio, Accesible y buena Ubicación
Lo Resumiré: Buenas 1.- Cómodo, Limpio, Agradable. 2.- 20 metros cerca de la 5ta Avenida de Playa del carmen 3.- A unas Cuadras del Ferry a Cozumel 4.- Servicio de Maletas de resguardo para después del Check Out Mal 1.- No me gusta que sea llave, en lugar de tarjeta, es incomodo y anticuado andar de paseo con llave y un mega llavero. 2.- Un poco sus escaleras ya que son angostas, pero nada de que preocuparse. Lo recomiendo mis viajeros

Efectivamente la ubicacion de Hotel Kinbe es privilegiada: a solo 50 metros del mar y a pocos pasos de la famosa 5a Avenida donde se pueden encontrar los mejores restaurantes y bares. Ofrecemos varios servcios a nuestro huespedes entre estos el resguardo de las maletas despues del check out, como Usted comento`, y tambien nuestros huespedes pueden dejar la llave del cuarto en reception ya que estamos abiertos las 24 horas. El checkin fue muy bueno y Claudio muy atento. En cuanto a las instalaciones sería bueno tener maleteros para colocar las maletas abiertas en la habitación y también necesitan colgadores de toallas en el baño. Son solo detalles por el resto la experiencia ha sido muy satisfactoria.

Das Hotel kann ich nur empfehlen, sehr freundliches Personal, welches sehr hilfsbereit war. Die Zimmer sehr sauber. Die Lage ist perfekt, sehr nah am Strand und sehr nah bei allen Bars und Restaurant. Die Ausgangsmeile befindet sich gleich um die Ecke

Debo decir que no esperaba tan buena atención y tantos detalles que hicieron que la pequeña estancia que tuvimos mi señora y yo fuera maravillosa. Desde el gran super detalle de prepararle un hermoso cisne lleno de pétalos en la cama a mi esposa, el tamaño de la habitación y sus lámparas, y por supuesto la tranquilidad, a pesar de estar justo al lado de un bar y de la quinta, no escuchamos ruido y pudimos descansar muy bien. Las tres personas que nos atendieron fueron excelentes anfitriones. Lo considero un lugar romántico dentro del ambiente de fiesta que tiene la zona, y no para portarse mal, sino para pasarla super con tu pareja.

Nice Hotel with friendly staff
The Hotel could not have a more Central locotion. IT is located 100m away from the famous Calle Quinta Avenida. The roms are bright and spaceous with good beds. We especially apriciated the down duvet. The bathrooom was nice, with a bog shower, bur the sink was a bit impractical. The best part of our stay were the friendly hotell straff. They alwsys provided good service with a smile. The Hotel breakfast was good, and served at the sidewalk restaurant Tropical. At tropisk Hotel guest may choose between american and mexican breakfast. We felt that the breakfast was best the day se arrived early.
