Davinci Hotel And Suites On Nelson Mandela Square

"This property is located in a great place for a short stay in Johannesburg. It is basically next to a huge mall where you can spend the day shopping and dining. It is next to the Nelson Mandela square (there is an exit door from the hotel) where you can admire art or take a picture with a tall statue of Nelson Mandela. We only stayed two nights in Johannesburg and then continued our trip. For this purpose the hotel was perfect. In the morning there is a free shuttle to the "Hop on Hop off" tourist bus, which is a great way to get an overview of Johannesburg. We never even got off the bus. Da Vinci hotel is an upscale hotel, clean with great service. I would stay here again if I ever came back to Johannesburg."

"The hotel room was quite comfortable. It was very easy to get an Uber or taxi to and from the hotel. There were very nice restaurants nearby and I even found a Pilates class at a hotel nearby along with a spa with a sauna, steam room, nail, and massage services. For massages at the Capital Empire you can ask in advance and they will have someone come to the massage rooms. The in-room a/c worked very well and the wifi was great for personal and business use. I do want to note that the pool is right next to the restaurant and bar, more exposed than what I'm used to, the standard room does not come with a tub (photos are misleading), and while the rooms are soundproof, you can still hear street noise if you're on the side facing the street. The water pressure was fine, but just on the lower side. The food at the hotel was good overall, but the pizza left more to be desired. Also, the gym does not have a treadmill. I did enjoy my stay overall. I chose this hotel because a friend that I was visiting was staying there."
