A small old property with an excellent staff, a great breakfast area, clean rooms and very well located.
Definitely, I will choose this properly next time.

One night stay.
Great location, clean, comfortable, lovely staff.
Slightly dated, in need of modernising.
Clean, comfortable and friendly! Close to transportation and a 10min walk to the city center. Breakfast was wonderful! Lovely little sitting room stocked with drinks and snacks was an added bonus. Would definitely stay there again.
a great find! Despite the roadworks this hotel was quiet and very conveniently located for the new theatre. We even managed two different circular walks along the canals and rivers in different directions from the hotel. Parking was included as well as a great breakfast. would definately stay again!
It was a very nice stay. The staff were very helpful, especially Julian. He did so much for us. And breakfast was tasty and hot.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Old rooms and our room was at the streetside, quite noisy at night, but we liked it anyway because of the friendly reception, parking behind the hotel, walking distance to the city centre, good breakfast.
Great location by the river, easy access to the city and lovely river walks. Breakfast good quality well cooked. 27/7 access to the honesty bar. Great welcoming staff.
I recently stayed at this hotel and was impressed by its excellent location, close to the station and incredibly convenient to explore Oxford.
The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to offer valuable advice on the best things to see and do in the city. Breakfast was a highlight, especially while enjoying views of the river and garden.
Overall it was an enjoyable stay in Oxford.
A nice hotel with good breakfast and friendly personnel nearby the center of Oxford.
I had a good chamber and a good bed.
The only thing I didn't like was that the windows could not open. But there was a fan and that was nice.
two night stay in oxford. Great location for train travel. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Breakfast area was very clean and tidy also .Staff were very attentive . The only problem was lack of air conditioning during heatwave.
Had a wonderful nights stay at the River Hotel on a girls trip with a friend. Our twin room was clean, well kept and a great size with nice decor. We had a great little TV, ample power sockets, tea and coffee facilities and everything else we could possibly need. Nice spacious bathroom with shower gel, shampoo etc already supplied. Parking on site was great considering how difficult it is to find in central Oxford. The hotel was happy for us to keep our car parked there for the day after we checked out so could we could explore the city. Not something they had to do was greatly appreciated. Free breakfast was wonderful with a wide array of choices. The breakfast room is lovely with views looking over the Thames. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m visiting Oxford. The hotel was great, but the staff are what really make it. Thank you for treating us so wonderfully.

Great location (except current closure of bridge makes a taxi journey back from city at night expensive). Lovely owner and staff. Great, and generous, selection of breakfasts. Rooms comfortable and everything you need but could do with updating.
Very nicely kept "homey" place to stay. More like a B&B than hotel. Great fresh, made to order breakfast each morning .Really good staff (came back in after midnight to get suitcases airline had misdirected.) No a/c, but opening windows helped keep it cool at night. No elevator. Rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors. Road construction nearby means a little longer walk to downtown, but were told in advance.
Pleasent stay in this small hotel nearby Train station and short walk to city. Stayed once before and still as enjoyable. Nice cooked to order breakfast. Has everything you need there with friendly staff. Their motto is: Large enough to be comfortable.. Small enough to be friendly..
The standout features of this hotel were the friendly welcome and helpfulness of the staff, the breakfast which included a choice of kippers, the view of the Thames from the dining room (I watched an angler catching a fish from the opposite bank and swans and ducks were swimming on the river), the honesty bar and there was a teapot in my room with the tea and coffee and biscuits which I really appreciated. The best of British hospitality and a comfortable cosy room made up for no lift and older facilities, all of which worked well.
Very quaint cosy hotel by the river, walkable to everywhere , right across Oxford train station , amazing , cosy, clean room , perfect English breakfast, a gem in Oxford . Love it!!
