Friendly and comfortable

A friendly welcome on arrival, good dinners and breakfasts, and a comfortable room (and fast internet) - what more can you ask for. Location is very quiet - but you have to accept that the access road is extremely narrow and doesn't look like the road to a hotel.

Excellent Hotel

Very nice hotel, very friendly. Room was very comfy and clean. I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and the food was beautiful. If you stay make sure to have dinner as you will not be disappointed. Looking forward to staying again sometime.

Don't let the drive in put you off!

Lovely little hotel, great food and service. It's at the end of a lane where a new estate is being built and you feel you are entering a building site, (well, actually you are!) However, the works do not impact on your stay, it's not put me off for any future visits.

Nice hotel, all staff very friendly and helpful.

Hotel adequate apart from shower. I was disappointed that I didn’t have a walk in shower. As I am a OAP I felt afraid of slipping, having to climb into the bath to shower. Apart from that everything was fine.

Great stop over

The hotel was in a great location just outside Exeter, a little difficult to find but worth it. Staff were very accomadating. Restaurant closed at 8.30 so arriving at 8.45 wasn't great however the staff fixed up some food. Breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is 'close to the centre' of Ottery Saint Mary, but access to the car park is 'difficult' - along a narrow lane between brick walls - which may be hard to find without instructions sent by e-mail,

Very enjoyable

. All rooms on1st floor,as stated. Clean and tidy. Great breakfast. Only one complaint. Internet connection very fickle. Only perseverance gets results. If you rely on it for your business beware.Set in beautiful village. Bit daunting looking for the hotel as it sits behind derelict cotton mill,but don't be put off----- lovely setting.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Breakfasts were plentiful and beautifully cooked, The room was very clean with both a shower and a bath, which suited both my wife and myself. We were looked after very well. There was only one small critism, we found that the mattress on the bed was much too hard. However this was very good value for the money, and we would definitely stay there agaion

Great hosts, lovely rooms and garden

We wanted to see something of Somerset, Devon and Dorset, and chose this quite spot with good access to these counties. The hosts went out of their way to provide meals whenever we needed them. Excellent menu, lovely food. And they were relaxed about us taking tea in the garden. The room was warm, and the beds were very comfortable. The only low point was the strange access between two warehouses.
