"Beds are lovely bathrooms"

"This feels like a motel, with a mediocre pub attached, which was ok as I was just wanting a bed for the night. The room was spacious but wasn’t as clean as you’d expect, Doors were banging through the night didn’t help sleep! I ate at the pub. The food was poor value really, even though my expectations were not high. When the dish arrived half the advertised ingredients had been forgotten so had to ask the staff to try again."

"Good amenities and grounds. Hotel is really showing its age, especially the rooms. Mine was very dark with a tiny bathroom. Lots of little imperfections and stains on the carpet. Definitely not worth the money I paid, £115 + for the night, solo traveller."

"The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly when required. The room was a really good size. However, the rooms are in need of some serious updating! We had 2 plug sockets in our bedroom which were on the other side of the room. The balcony was filthy, leaves twigs etc all over the floor. The balcony railings were also a mess, covered in spiders and the chairs provided were dirty. "I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! The hotel obviously has all the charm of such an old place and would be awesome for a romantic getaway (although I was traveling alone on this trip!). There is lots of parking, which is free. "Parking was excellent plenty of spaces. There was no chef so wasn't able to get anything to eat not even offered a sandwich and lift was broken but gentleman on reception did offer to help with any luggage"

"Lovely large room . Well set out heating / cooling facilities made things very comfortable. Breakfast was well set out sadly we weren't able to take full advantage of what was on offer. Evenibg meal was also good value for money."

"Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...
