"We had two issues with this hotel stay. One is that the Expedia title for the property is ”Stay in National Park Village”. The property is actually 3 km away from National Park Village on a Main road with a lot of traffic. If you rent the top room with the balcony you overlook this busy road. It was not as peaceful as expected. National Park Village is a misnomer also as it is not in the park but at the access point to enter the park. It’s a further 14 minute drive to get to the parks...

"The cabin was fantastic, very clean and tidy - most of all very, very quiet. The attention from the female caretaker was outstanding, she made sure everything was to our satisfaction, all in all a great stay. Would recommend to anyone to stay there."

"Good location, especially for the Teranaki Falls walk, but also for Tongoriro Crossing (20 minutes drive to the trail head). The staff was friendly. The room was clean and as-described. The property is a little old/dated. Also, the hot tub is only available 3pm to 8pm and you need to reserve a 30-minute slot (on the plus side you get the hot tub to yourself for the 30 minute slot, and the clean it fully every day). "

"We stayed 2 nights in the ‘deluxe’ double room No 4 directly behind reception. The self check-in process was very easy to use. I suspect like everyone else we were there to do the Alpine Crossing. So in that context it suited us fine, only a few minutes drive to the pickup point. The room was en-suite, the shower was okay once it warmed up and it had a decent TV with a range of channels. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall very good value."

"Everything was ok and Plateau Lodge is one of the best we have stayed for our hiking trips. The only little problem is just photo displayed when I booked. It shows a nice outdoor bath tub, so I expected the room I booked looks like this. However, that is indeed for another room type."

"We were only here for three nights but loved the time we had here. It was welcoming, spotless and our fridge was stocked everyday with breakfast foods, even bacon. The kitchen was really well stocked as was the rest of the house. For us, instead of being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night, we were able to hear the river and drop off to sleep with that beautiful sound, it really was a luxury home away from home. Thank you"

"The owner very kind, room is clean, bug kitchen and location not far from Mt. Ruapehu."

"It looks like the place has been going thru renovations. The room has new kitchen and floor, may be carpet too. It is about 15-20 min. to the NP visitor center and many thrailheads and has restaurants and supermarket nearby. Since the room has full pane glass as wall and access door along the corridor ( much like patio door ) which allows full view of the mountains and also tenants walking on the corridor. For privacy, you need to close the curtain."

"Absolutely adored my stay here. Just wow. What a lovely place. The decor was so cute. Bed was very comfortable, a king size. The kitchen was well stocked. Bathroom was great. The property itself is lovely and convenient to town. Hosts were kind."
