Amazing overnight accommodation with a super comfortable Ling sized bedroom suite followed by homemade, from scratch, tasty breakfast food on the weekend mornings. The room was clean, and had all the amenities a night away from home could ever need. The Inn was decorated eloquently and the owners went above and beyond to make themselves known, available and you could feel the southern hospitality flowing through every room. The local shops, restaurants, and bars we visited all came through recommendations from the Inn and didn’t disappoint! We’ll plan to stay here the next time where in town. Awesome place!

Ive stayed at the Trott house several times when work takes me to the area (and always so glad to be able to stay there). Its been a few weeks since my last stay- was pulled to another part of the state. When I arrived this time and walked through the front door it felt like coming home. Sounds funny, I know. It was partly that Ive stayed here so many times and partly that the last couple weeks I had to stay in chain hotels... Can recommend highly enough if you're in the area (or nearby, its worth the drive). And downtown Newton is worth the visit (and walkable) from the Trott house.

Best in the area

Second time staying at the Trott House and it was just as wonderful as the first. Amenities, location and uniqueness are the best in the area. The property has a large back porch or side yard to relax outside or if inside, the classy downstairs offers a piano, couches, or a dining room with tables. Having 24hr access to the dining area for water, coffee (so good to have a Nespresso) and plenty of snacks is smart to fit the schedule of traveling. From the attentive hosts, chocolates at the bedside and vision to create a unique experience - I would recommend the Trott House and will return myself.

This place was amazing. My daughter and I stopped here in May 2025, and we felt like we were royalty. The special treats and fancy coffee were great but being able to enjoy it out on a quiet porch was amazing. The breakfast the next morning was perfect with hot and cold options and lots of delicious goodies. The only word of warning is that there was an amazing private bathroom for our room (“College”). The shower was about the size of an RV shower. My slim teenage daughter had warned me because she experienced it first. I admit it was a small space but I would be more than willing to give up shower space for the convenience of having our own personal bathroom in our room. Many B&Bs do not have this option. Perhaps the other rooms have larger options. If you require a larger space then I would inquire which room to book. You will absolutely love this place and all that they have to offer!
