"Wow!! Such an amazing place to stay. It was only about 10/15 minutes drive outside of Selfoss. The area is very quiet and cute and the hotel is right up against the beach. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. We slept great because it was so quiet and dark. We were able to see the Northern Lights right outside our room! It was easy to speak to someone in the reception desk and we were overall very impressed. 10/10 would stay here again in a heartbeat! "

"This place is really in the middle of nowhere, but if you are heading east by the south coast, then it's perfect. We stayed here first stay after we arrived and it met our needs well. There is no staff. They give a code to the main door and code to your room. The room has the necessities. It's a no-frills simple suitable stay."

"We had the most wonderful stay at hotel Grimsborgir! The rooms were spotless and very roomy. The hot-tub was also a great addition and lovely to be able to use it in the evening after a busy day of exploring. The staff were extremely friendly and the food (both the included breakfast and paid dinner) was amazing with lots of options. The location was excellent in a nice quiet part of Selfoss. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights from our room!!"

"We loved everything about this hotel, the area around it was very quiet, but areas that were walkable and a grocery store and gas station right in front of the property, which was convenient to grab on our way back out of town. The room was adorable, we loved all the thoughtful touches, including the bulletin board with all kinds of information about the area. The downstairs with the shop and food hall was a nice perk. Staff was very friendly, the breakfast, although not extensive and options...

"The accommodation looked exactly like the photos and was spotless. It was located right next to Kerið Crater, making it easy and convenient to step outside at night to watch the northern lights. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to enjoy the hot tub, which was a bit disappointing. It’s definitely a place we would love to stay at again and highly recommend to others."
