I wasnt able to check in, apparently there was some kind of misscommunication between the manager and orbitz, regarding the price, so he demanded a different quantity once I got there.
I got there at night, and at that time I had to look for a different place.
It was ok 2.5 basic clean hotel with attentive staff who spoke no English; noisy as it was across from a football field! Aguas Calientes is very small with no vehular traffic. Near the train station, market and a 7 min walk for the buses to Machupicchu . Market is lovely with many Peruvian crafts which are more expensive here than most. The town of Aguas Calientes does not have many attraction but good places to relax near the river. Beautiful and scenic...

Booked a couple of nights due to having tickets to Machu Picchu for consecutive days. The hotel itself is very clean, comfortable and close to the train station (then again everything in Aguas Calientes is).
The staff was friendly and helpful, recommending places to eat and do stuff like laundry, etc.
The area is quite noisy due to the football field right next to it but again, everything in Aguas Calientes is right next to each other.
Would definitely stay again.
place was great and the owner even provided us with a to go breakfast at 330am
only downside is when he is not working there the rest of the front desk staff can't do much to help
Nightmare stay. Place is loud. Didn't have hot water for 3 hours, and they at first were insisting that I was using the wrong knob. Only until I persisted did they realize that it was on their end. Finally, I kept trying to pay, but they always deferred to some later time. I told them that I was leaving at 10:30 AM to catch my train back to Ollataytambo and the person said she would be there for me to pay at checkout. 10:30 rolls around and she's not there. The two other people there for some reason cannot use the credit card machine. I wait around until it becomes obvious I'm going to miss my train and I leave. The hotel wrote me a message through Hotels.com asking to be paid. Since the Hotels.com was useless in helping with this, the Hotel's solution was for me to deposit money into their bank account or meet a relative in Cusco to pay them (no joke!). I was content with not paying them, but my wife was worried of legal repercussions (IE Peruvian jail), so we ended up waiting 2 hours at their bank in Cusco to deposit the money.
We had a confirmed booking but were left high and dry because proprietor had booked a group in. Greatly inconvenienced us by making us go to other side of town with our luggage up many flights of stairs to his other 'hotel' which still being built. He tried to get us to pay before leaving the first hotel. Very pleased I didn't as the whole thing was dodgey and we had to walk away and find an alternative quite late in the day. It was very stressful and physically exhausting. Don't book here unless you like being given the 'runaround'

No frills No problemo hotel
Very helpful and friendly. Offered to move us to quite right room but we were OK as noise from the "local scene/community " was acceptable and stopped c.10.30 anyway.

Budget hotel, but comfortable and safe.
Very helpful staff, comfortable bed, but cold water in the shower, and hotel is in some need of repair. Staff are super.

Good location
Well located room near train station and on main street. Got towels, soap, and shampoo. Free wifi, free breakfast. The water smelled funky, like sulfur (so did the hot springs)

Sobresaliente la amabilidad y espíritu de servicio
En general todo es bastante costoso en aguas calientes además todo es muy cercano a los principales lugares turísticos por ser muy pequeño. Lo más destacable es la limpieza del hotel y la amabilidad del personal.
This is a great place to stay. Is it a Hostel or a Hotel. Well in NYC it would be a Hostel but in Aqua Calientes its a Hotel. The room we had was clean and the beds as good as anywhere. Easy to find, on a corner from the local Soccer field two blocks from the train station. The staff gave us breakfast early both days so we could make our transportation.
Stay here, these are good people.
