"Stayed at the Westwood for a week while attending a conference at the University of Galway. I've not complaints about the place or the staff. Indeed, I quite enjoyed my stay there and would certainly consider staying there again. This said, there are two things I wish I had known about before deciding to stay there: (1) Unless you have your own vehicle, you're largely dependent on bus 404 or taxi to get to/from the city centre (it's a good 50-60min walk each way); and (2) there's no food/drink options in the immediate vicinity by other than a Spar. This said, the food at Kelehan's Bar & Restaurant, which is about 1.5km further up the N59, is superb; as are the pints."
