Disappointing Experience – Not the Standard I Expect from Fairmont
I recently stayed at this property and was deeply disappointed by the overall experience—by far the worst Fairmont I’ve encountered, and I’ve stayed at Fairmont hotels across four continents.
The room I was assigned had a noticeably unpleasant odor and a visibly dirty carpet, which set a poor tone from the start. There was no “Do Not Disturb” sign available, and the television was not functional, which meant I had no access to hotel information through the in-room system. No print materials outlining hotel amenities were provided either, which left me guessing about the services available.
Check-in was long and inefficient, and while James and Destiny at the front desk were kind and tried their best to assist, there was obvious friction between hotel staff and guests—particularly regarding Expedia reservations. The tension was palpable, and the overall attitude of the front desk (with some exceptions) felt defensive and unwelcoming.
The food was below average, which is unfortunate given the Fairmont’s usual reputation for excellence in dining.
This was, regrettably, my worst Fairmont experience. I will not return to this location and cannot recommend it. I expect much better from a brand that usually upholds such high standards of hospitality.
