The staff were exceptionally helpful, from check-in to daily cleaning, to check-out and especially for securing a cab for us when the trains were down and cabs were scarce on the ground. The room was a bit tight for two queen beds but the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The washroom was clean and a good size and the shower was wonderful - great water pressure. Thank God for the AC in the heat wave! Even the stairs to the lobby were very clean - we were impressed. Very close to Aldgate East tube stop, which made all our travels very easy (until the tube wasn't working!). It's on the District Line, which made it easy to take one train to most locations. Close to Tower of London and Tower Bridge (walking distance for us). Good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner were also nearby. We would absolutely stay again!

Average hotel but booked as significantly cheaper than hotels which were in central London. Location was good, especially for Brick Lane and central London is a walk away. Tube station directly outside the hotel. Breakfast not worth £22 each. So in summary, by no means a luxury establishment but is excellent value for money
