"For £250 for a night I was expecting top quality from such a famous establishment. No-one on reception when we arrived and had to wait a good five minutes for anyone to appear. All went downhill from there. Receptionist, when he did turn up, was gruff and harassed. Room was tired, dowdy, stained carpet, hole in the wall (looked like a previous guest had vented their frustrations with their fist), grimey chipped bath and dirty stains around taps. Water pressure low on shower and very leaky. Mattress creaky and could feel the springs through it. Room also very noisy and woken up during the night with shouting outside. One of the worst hotels I've stayed in for many years."
