  • I took this in March in Sintra, Portugal! It's at the fairy tale castle Pena Palace :). This is one of the lovely close-up views. It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. It is also used for state occasions by the President of the Portuguese Republic and other government officials. Thanks to Wikipedia for help ;).

We visited with a group of 8 friends. My wife and I were only there for a night on our way to the airport the next day. This was way too short!! Our room was HUGE, nice, comfortable, perfect! We had a peek-a-boo view of the castle on the hill. This is located perfectly near restaurants and Sintra sights. We really want to return for a longer stay!

Favourite place we stayed all trip! Spacious and clean, in the heart of Historical area of Sintra. Felt like a local and would absolutely stay here again! Great communication and very well kept space woth awesome AC. Close to everywhere and everything you need to see. Make sure to pick their spot to park as that was the most difficult part of the stay. But the effort was worth the reward!

The room itself was really nice. Good amenities, good location, good price, good communication from the host. However, the AC unit was filled with black mold, making the entire room need to be continually aired out. This also didn't allow me to use AC at night, causing me to be cold every single night for four nights. Contacting the host about this was quick and easy, but they sent the wrong type of technician over, making the problem unresolved before I left. If this problem didn't exist, I'd easily give 5 stars, but this was an extremely smelly and uncomfortable stay.

The check in was stressful and unorganized. We were to receive an email with the codes we needed for the apartment which we did not get. Could not reach anyone. Thankfully a local person helped us. 90 minutes later they found our reservation and we were finally let in The apartment was nice and centrally located. Other than the check in we enjoyed our stay.

The location is very good. It’s close to Vila Sassetti, from where you could walk up to Pena Palace and Moorish Castle. Fabrica da Nata has best tarts I have ever had in Portugal. The casa/hotel is equipped with all essential items. Check-in is automatous and was very easy for me. Would definitely stay again!

Unusual but superb place to stay - just slightly off the beaten track - but extremely close to the tourist Mecca that is the Historic center of Sintra. We had a minor glitch on the automatic check-in (accessing the needed codes) - but a phone call to the provided number saw it resolved very quickly and efficiently. We were very impressed.

The apartment was easy to find and check in was easy. Nice to be able to put our luggage in lockers before checking in time. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Bed was really comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Coffee machine in reception a nice welcome touch. Would book again. Sintra is beautiful and right on the doorstep.
