Wonderful stay in clean, charming nicely decorated and welcoming home. The accommodations were excellent, the breakfast were delicious and the host Alain was extremely personable, pleasant and helpful in choosing scenic routes and recommendations for supper. The rooms were spacious and a nice view of the river. The owner, Alain, made an amazing breakfast, gave great recommendations and was fun to chat with. He has an excellent sense of humour and very personable. Great location and very comfortable. Highly recommend!

Le décor de cet maison patrimoniale est exquis et l’accueil aussi! Ce que j’ai le moins aimé c’est d’avoir une salle de bain à l’extérieur de notre chambre. Chambre pas bien insonorisée mais il faut s’y attendre dans une vielle maison. Cap-à-l’aigle est un lieu merveilleux avec une magnifique vue sur le fleuve.

Alain est un hôte d’exception. Il prépare les meilleurs déjeuners de Charlevoix sans le moindre doute. La maison est très propre très bien située. Bref un incontournable, vous ne le regretterez pas !

Ça vaut le détour

Très agréable accueil personnalisé et très chaleureux. Il était très agréable de se relaxer dans la véranda dans la soirée afin de profiter de la fraîcheur car petit bémol, il n’y a pas de climatisation dans les chambres... Le petit déjeuner a été une excellente expérience où nous avons pu échanger avec les autres clients. Pour info, le petit déjeuner est très copieux et surtout fait maison, un régal!

We had tickets for a tour of Les Jardins des Quatre Vents a lovely private garden only open four days a year and Auberge A La Chouenne was in the perfect location for getting to it. Our host could not have been nicer, although we don't speak French he knew quite a bit of English and we were able to communicate and had several fun conversations. Our room was perfect, so spacious and comfortable. It had a little sitting area with two chairs where we sat and read or checked our email. The bathroom was beautiful and huge with an awesome shower and a jetted tub. Breakfast was delicious, on the morning of our tour it even included flowers and was arranged beautifully. Highly recommend this B&B

Warm and cozy

Nice hotel, decorated with antiques which were very much like home. The breakfast which is included was excellent, lots of seasonal fruits. The homemade cranberry muffins were to die for, wish I had the recipe!
