Enjoyable stay at The Duke's Head Hotel. Brilliant location, friendly and helpful staff, and a comfortable room. Good value for money for a Friday night.
Large public spaces with several lounge areas for privacy. Large restaurant with excellent service. The menu was limited and required careful selection. The food was quite good. Breakfast was excellent with hot food and a good cold selection. Staff everywhere were friendly and helpful. The Vancouver Suite was spacious and comfortable with very good facilities. Everywhere was spotless.
The hotel is modern and clean, rooms are comfy, we only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay more.
We were disappointed with the restaurant, the menu nothing like the on line sample.
We would stay again, but would book elsewhere to eat.
We stayed in Room 19. It was a very large room and the bed was enormous. The room was immaculately cleanbandtea and coffee facilities were plentiful.
Our only problem was that the water was barely warm and our showers weren't very pleasant because of the temperature of the water.
Great value for money. Noisy on a night until about midnight. Check in time changed from 2pm to 4pm and we were not informed until got a reminder email from hotel just before date of going showing updated time. No apology. Had booked to go out for 4.45 but reception really helpful and got us in our rooms early.
The atmosphere in the hotel was very good and quiet. The staff were faultless in their attention to our needs well done everyone. The room we were in was a bit tired and needed some TLC especially in the bathroom.
Beautiful old building which has had good levels of investment into making it a fine hotel. Very well located in the centre of town but with plenty of nearby parking.
Well appointed, if small, rooms, attentive and welcoming staff although needed more staff at breakfast as many guests had to wait too long to be seated. Breakfast was excellent though, lots of choice and good quality.
