My husband and i enjoyed our stay however i would give two suggestions to make the place a better experience. A full length mirror is much needed for any woman.. also the dresser was very difficult to open. I still rated the place very high bcuz it was a beautiful place. Please take those things in consideration.

Quaint little resort. No restaurant on-site. A big negative. They show a wifi for guests. It only works if you are outside.

This place is amazing. The rooms are spacious and updated. The grounds and the staff are the real stars here. The pool and hot tub are not too shabby but the ocean view and the pier are breathtaking. The staff member was the nicest person and check in was a breeze.

Hidden gem in Key Largo! We had an amazing stay and will definitely book again in the future. Catherine at the front desk goes above & beyond to communicate all property amenities and makes you feel welcome!! Property is beautiful and very well kept. Quiet, quaint and well-kept suites set this place apart from the rest! We stayed at the pineapple room and love it! Thank you for making our short stay a great one!!

A little bit of paradise
It was magical , Kathryn was the nicest and best person to take us around the property and point out all the beauty surrounding the bugalows. A very gracious host . We knew then and there that this place was going to be special . And it was !!

You can’t even speak inside your room. People bang at your door and even the staff asks to lower your voice, basically you have to whisper. Outdoors were very dark and unsafe to walk, no night lighting. Terrible experience

Nice large room. Firm king matress. Very good air conditioning. Could make room really cold. TV small. No microwave. Nice 4 cup coffee maker. Good size under counter frig that was cold. Nice friendly staff. Nice beach access in lagoon type setting. Very cool and unique property.

We originally booked Kona Kai for one night but we loved it so much we stayed for three nights. Kathryn and Zee, the office staff, were both a pure delight and very helpful. The room we had was like a small apartment and very well equipped. Nice private beach with kayaks, paddle boards and iguanas provided. There is a fairly decent restaurant across the road but it would be great if Kona Kai had a restaurant or bar too. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay at Kona Kai! It's a small resort, 14 rooms but spacious enough to enjoy. Dee Dee was wonderful about welcoming us to the property and showing us around. We made several friends during our stay there. The rooms were large enough and had amenities such as mini frig, glasses, etc. The beach was beautiful and you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets there. We really enjoyed the paddleboards and kayaks and being able to use them at our leisure. We can't wait to return!

Little Garden of Eden
Kona Kai was outstanding! The room was clean and roomy, and the property was like a peaceful Garden of Eden. The exceptional customer service helped make our stay pleasant and relaxing. We will stay here again if we return to Key Largo.

Individual “apartments“ surrounded by lush foliage, and winding brick pathways. Kayaking, tennis/pickle ball, shuffleboard, ping-pong on site. DeeDee and staff were the best! Lots of individual seating and dining areas to enjoy the water including a unique pier with superb view!

I stayed here for 2 nights for my first solo trip to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It was one of my best vacations ever. Being a single female I felt so safe and secure there. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The property is gorgeous and the views of the bay from the dock and beach were breathtaking. I saw tons of fish, a nurse shark, dolphins and a stingray just from the dock. Sunsets are a MUST! On my second night they had a couple get married there, it was beautiful. I checked out a little earlier than expected as a dear friend was in a bad accident, the lady at the front desk was wonderful and asked if she could help in any way. I just can’t say enough good things about Kona Kai, I am a Central Floridian and will be back for sure!

This property was absolutely amazing. It was like staying in a Botanical Garden. The foliage and landscaping were nothing short of stunning! There were lots of cozy tables and chairs scattered around the property in perfect shaded locations. There were also nice hammocks, lounge chairs, free use of kayaks, a filtered water & tiny ice bits machine free of charge as well. The office/check-in area was very, very nice and served as an art gallery as well for local artists. Every one of the staff members we encountered were very friendly and pleasant. Both Zee and Dee Dee at the front desk were awesome! We enjoyed our stay here so much that we even extended it by another day. This property is truly a Slice of Paradise and we will certainly be back!
