A very comfortable hotel with exceptional service. The room was lovely with great views of the river and mountains. The food in the restaurant was of a very high quality. We stayed two nights and had a superb French-style meal on the first night with wine pairing. On the second night there was an excellent Japanese meal with Sake pairing. Very impressed overall.

Fantastic experience with onsen in the mountain.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was very spacious. The staff sets up traditional futon mattresses while you're at dinner, and these are very comfortable. The en-suite onsen is truly luxurious as promised, although be sure to look up steps for how to shower/prepare if you have not done one before! We had a lovely stay. The staff were very hospitable and dinner on both nights was a brilliant experience. The private onsens were gorgeous. Highly recommend for a traditional Japanese stay.

We wish we could stay here longer. The bath was amazing (with 9 different indoor and outdoor pools), the Japanese-style room was a unique experience, and above all - the Japanese dinner was fantastic in both presentation, quantity, service and flavor.

Everything was perfect.

It was a beautiful place to stay with a lovely room and a modern bathroom attached. The old style was really beautiful with the dark wood. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 nights and used it as a base for Kamikochi and the wasabi farm and cycle in Azumino as well as the Castle in Matsumoto itself.

Great experience staying in a traditional tatami room with low tables and futons on the floor. The traditional breakfast and dinner were a fabulous experience. The onsen was lovely, bathing in hot water looking at the snow covered mountains we used the public one but on both occasions had it to ourselves.

A truly relaxing and indulgent time in pure Japanese comfort. We had a few changes to our plans and the hotel were so so accommodating. Will remember the lovely staff, food and onsen forever.

The hotel is amazingly good. Near the Matsumoto train station and the Matsumoto bus terminus. Hot spring bath and late night snack are very good. Also I am writing to thank a particular young front desk male staff.(Forgive me for forgetting his Japanese name) I left my passport in the last hotel.
