"Situated in a scenic location with an unbelievable view over the surrounding mountains including mt Yufu. Very steep road up and easy to miss off the main road. Parking lot is good and was never crowded. Room was very spacious with 3 private onsens, though you’d only be using the outside ones purely for the surrounding views and sounds of nature! The daily Kaiseki meals were excellent with abundance of local delicacies including Bungo Wagyu beef! overall the resort felt a little dated and would benefit from a refurbishment. Host and owner were very good to guests and made sure to make a daily appearance serving some of the meals to guests and creating an interactive experience every time. Staff were nice and friendly! Overall, good experience and no regrets having stayed there."

"Wonderful staff and plentiful food (both dinner and breakfast) which was really delicious. The property is run down but everything worked fine. Staff helped with transfers and getting us to the start of our walk and back. Very helpful! Don’t let the bad reviews put you off."

"Boutique bed and breakfast type facility. Had a wonderful time at the hotel. Please keep in mind is a small cozy hotel. There isn't too much amenities but staff was great with what they offer. If you are looking for a nice place to relax with a beautiful mountain backdrop this is the place to be."
