My family and I have stayed at Ratanui on many visits to Taranaki over the years. The cosy units are set in amazing park-like grounds and the place almost feels like a second home to us. For travelers who enjoy the peace and serenity of the countryside.

This is a beautifully tranquil countryside setting The room was great, and met our needs The only detractor was that the view, seen on the advert, and the reason I picked this venue isn’t there! Huge trees now block the view of the mountain, and you have to leave the property and drive down the road to see it fully.

We stayed at the Ratanui Villas previously and absolutely love this place. Stunning gardens, comfortable and super clean. The only reason I didn't rate it 10/10, is because our unit didn't have a heat pump and it was super cold. A heater was in the unit but it barely threw out heat. Very friendly host and cleaning lady.

A stunning setting, quiet and private and not far out of town at all. It was a treat to return after a busy day of sight seeing to find our unit tidied and towels replaced... doesnt seem to happen much anymore. The units were gorgeous and had everything we needed. We would certainly recommend and return in the future.

Very clean, very quiet. We had very bad weather with heavy rain which meant we could not enjoy the lovely property. Would have appreciated even a small covered outdoor space. It also meant the lack of dryer with laundry facilities was a problem--and we booked because it said it had laundry.

Ratanui villas is a lovely quiet motel, set in gorgeous park-like grounds, very handy to New Plymouth and also for us to family who live in the same road 😊, perfect for us. Very nice refurbished units, very comfortable and peaceful.

Nice Surrounding and quiet but!
Quiet and lovely grounds driving in to property, one thing our family disliked, we locked up the unit before leaving for a full day out with our belongings inside the unit as staying another night, but housekeeping had been in and left back door unlock and a window open being away from the property from early morning to late evening coming back knowing our belongings weren't safe like we thought when we left as anyone had access to our room was off putting.

Lovely accommodation. Clean and well cared for. They had a water pipe issue while we were there, so had to pump water from the pool for showers and toilet. Provided us with bottled water for drinking.

Wonderful quiet location just out of town in a rural setting these spacious units have all been tastefully updated, meticulously maintained and squeaky clean! Comfortable bed, beautiful grounds - like staying in a park. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place! So peaceful and pleasant:) wouldve been nice to have stayed longer with the weather a little better too but enjoyed the little time we did spend here.. Service was great too! Didnt come to find our room was in fact missing a kettle until the morning though but was happy to make do with alternative as we were only there for the night. Would love to visit again next time were in the area :)

Quiet but close to town.
Nicely renovated villa situated 5 minutes from town. Peaceful and no traffic to wake you up. Owner was very friendly and helpful. He turned our heaters on prior to our arrival which was lovely. Signs to the villas were hard to see as a real estate sign is in front of it for another property. We actually missed the sign completely in the dark. Sign shows where reception is but leads to a door that looks like a back door of a house. So a sign on door saying reception would be good. An email from villa to say they had received our booking via wotif woulc have been reassuring. Great place to stay especially with kids. Two separate bedrooms was fantastic. Great stay.

They are so lovely and friendly. Very helpful and go the extra mile. Hard to find as on a corner and couldn’t see any sign on road. Room clean and comfortable.

Wonderful and kind host, very clean and silent
It's really good choice for our family. I had a headache and asked medicine to host. He directly gave me it with his smile. Very nice and clean and calm. I could relax and remove my all of my stresses. My children really enjoyed here and we planed next trip in here again. Hope you enjoy your trip in here.
