"This place is old school Hilo - we felt at home. The bay side view from the third floor was fantastic, and we loved the balcony. The pool was very clean and looked out onto the bay. I appreciated the orchids and ginger around the property. Not having an elevator or AC was a little inconvenient, but overall we had a lovely stay. Big fridge and kitchenette was helpful. Fantastic location!!"

"Perfect place to stay for a couples getaway if you’re visiting The Big Island. Staff were always able to help whenever we needed them. Being greeted by Coconut Jake every morning was the perfect way to start the day. Greeting Miss Kitty in the evening after a long day of fun and adventure was a treat as well. Rooms provide all the things you’d need when on vacation: beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, hair dryer, bathroom supplies, etc. I could go on about all the great things about this place, but the ratings and reviews speak for themselves. Just book it!"

"Stayed in the “dorm style” room. The common kitchen and living area was well stocked. There were dishes, different cooking implements, microwave, pots and pans in the kitchen. Each private room has a small fridge and a private bathroom. The AC was cold. When I stayed, I think there was only one other person in the dorm but I only heard them when they came in. I could not hear them in their room. My room had a glass slider to the grassy yard in front. Siobhan (front desk clerk) was friendly and communicated through messages about check-in before my stay. Check-in was quick. Facility was busy during my stay but my room was located away from the action and very quiet. This will be my usual stay when I’m in Hilo."
