The room was clean and overlooked the courtyard, which was quiet. Hotel is a bit dated (rugs smell old), but it was clean so that’s important. The restaurant and outside patio were very nice and I enjoyed sitting outside in the afternoon. The negatives for one was you are close to St BAVO and the bells do chime at night, so as a light sleeper that was a bit bothersome. The other thing is cars can not drive near the hotel so you have to drag your baggage a block or two.

The rooms are clean & comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Located in the heart of Haarlem it is the perfect location from which to walk the city and see all the sights. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants close by and the Saturday market should not be missed. There is no need for a car. It’s an easy 10 min walk from the train station to the hotel. So enjoy.

The excellent staff did all they could to make or stay as pleasant as possible. However, the rooms were outdated and a bit scruffy. We had to ask for the rugs to be vacuumed and the bathroom floor washed before we felt comfortable with the cleanliness. The major drawbacks were that the hotel is without air conditioning and some rooms are quite noisy, as they are on the street with bar and restaurants all along the street on which the hotel resides. That said, I would consider looking at it again once A/C is installed as the staff are excellent

The room was exceptionally warm at the time of thd heatwave. There was a fan but very hard to open windows as very noisy street outside. The staff were apoigetiv but no solution offered. We had booked two nights and left after one No refund as I had booked the non refundable rate Akthough did refund the city tax. It may be the other rooms were better -we were a crossed the courtyard. The Hotel is in a great location abd very attractive area.

Very clean. Staff were fantastic and very attentive. We did not have breakfast but did enjoy an evening Meal- it did not disappoint. We didn’t see any families there so can’t comment, but there were children in the Restaurant with their families and they were well-behaved.We changed our room due it looking ‘tired’ and in need of some upgrading and warmth(we don’t mean heat). We were given another room without any quibbles and a free drinks Voucher. We felt very safe. Loved the Cafe style Bar/Patio area, where you could relax under the ambient lighting with heaters under the shades and cosy cushions to plonk your tired body on. We enjoyed a well earned drink after hours of walking our socks off, exploring many cobbled streets that had exciting shops/bars and many other delights. The Dutch were so friendly and I was impressed with the amount that spoke very good English. I’m sorry we couldn’t reciprocate with the Dutch Language! I would definitely visit the area again as we couldn’t fit it all in and what’s the point of rushing when you’re on a break, just means there’s a reason to go back! I found the general atmosphere calm, relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. I would of liked to give a 5* rating but the “5th” star on my phone screen wouldn’t show as the print was too big and I couldn’t make it smaller to press number 5. Thank you Ambassador!
