"Everything was great only thing I will say is the guy that checks the pool at night did have a slight attitude because we were a little behind on time when the pool was closing we literally just didn’t know what time it was. Also there were stains on the cushions on the couch I also realized we were sneezing a lot in the room first thought were it must have been a dog in there. "The lampshade near the bed was broken and hanging off the frame. There was no working phone in the room to call the desk. When had to change rooms because in the first room the television didn’t work and again no phone. No one ever checked to see if we needed more towels. We were there for 4 days and never saw a sold. I would not recommend. It has not been kept up. It was nice at one time but I think it changed hands"

"The manager was extremely helpful. Property was not up to par and had to change rooms twice. First room smelled like cigarette smoke and the second room wasn’t properly cleaned and did not have a shower curtain."

"Our room was not ready until 4:35, I got there at 1:30. They gave me a late check out and 2 breakfasts for the inconvenience, however running back and forth from the pool area 3x to see if the room was ready was really annoying. All that aside I do love this hotel better during the week when there are not 2-3 events going on. The check in is so backed up when a large influx of people come in at once for these events. Nice pool,but extremely limited food menu no outside food allowed."

"Photos of the property are definitely deceiving. I was expecting a hotel but it was a motel. The "breakfast" was bread to make toast and some sketchy-looking sausages. No coffee. The staff was nice and it was fine for a night, but I was disappointed with the overall experience."

"I want to say that the staff at Essence was friendly and helpful. The property leaves much to be desired though. The bathroom sink had a 2x6 board as an apron from the vanity instead of matching the counter. The bathroom door was old and had holes. There was almost no water pressure in the shower and the grout was mildewed. Ironically the sign out front advertises renovated rooms. The location was the worst though. Coming off of US 46 you can’t see the hotel but you have to cross 3 lanes in...

"They allowed me to check in early at no extra charge and upgraded my room at no extra charge. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the amenities were wonderful and the room was spotless."

"The staff was discourteous and treated me like I was someone suspicious or didn't belong there. There was no elevator for people going to the second floor with bags. The building was unbelievably hot. On the other hand, the room was quite spacious, but the bathroom was very small. Overall, not worth the price, especially with the poor staff."

"Bathroom was clean but toilet did not flush well. Beds were comfortable and clean but carpeting was dirty, sheets and duvet had holes in them, all in all the place needed to be more carefully cleaned!!! On the highway 46, trees and brush needs to be cut down so the entrance is visible. If you miss the entrance, there is a LONG way to go to try to get back to hotel. Towels were clean but frayed and very used. Outside of hotel just needs to be cleaned well. No trash around but not well cleaned....
