"Stayed here over the bank holiday as a family of 4. The hotel itself is nice and the outside space is green and relaxing. However, we were given a very hot top-floor room during 28°C weather, with no air conditioning and windows that barely opened. The fan provided did not help and none of us could sleep. "The swim area was excellent, the service was excellent in the bar and restaurant areas. The rooms are very very outdated. The bathroom was not clean. We stayed for two nights and the first day we went out we returned to our room not being maid services we were told we had to request it and there is no one to clean our room now. "Ockenden manor was beautiful and staff very accommodating and friendly. We were also upgraded at check in which was a nice surprise. The room was beautifully designed, and bathroom and bedding were clean, although we did find two pieces of rubbish left behind by a previous guest in the room. "The staff is extremely kind and helpful and the room was clean"

"We loved our mini-moon at The Spread Eagle. The staff were kind enough to upgrade our room, offer us some fizz on the house and gave us cutlery and plates so we could enjoy a bit more wedding cake. I'm sure you don't have to be freshly married to enjoy your time at the hotel, it is a lovely space, the staff were brilliant and the room was comfortable and clean. "Extremely dog friendly, loved that the dog friendly rooms opened onto the courtyard garden (enclosed). The walks are beautiful/ stunning. Dogs welcome in the restaurants. Highly recommend."
