"Just don’t waste your money! The food in the restaurant gross and overpriced. Bar tenders suck as they use generic alcohol. The guest services reps are RUDE! You have to tip shuttle drivers if you want a ride to and from your room and the way the layout is of the property you will want/need the shuttle. And don’t get me started on that funky smelling beach that you cannot even get on due to the funky seaweed. You have to take a shuttle to an offsite beach. Save your money! "

"The food at their buffet was not good at the one restaurant they have the food was decent. Breakfast is not included and breakfast was not good. They have a swim up bar restaurant but it’s really just a bar that has a short menu. That food was absolutely horrible. They did however upgrade our room to an ocean view which is nice. "Carina Bay was lovely. If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy, Carina Bay is it. The all inclusive resort served good food. If you don’t eat pork, breakfast will disappoint you. I went during the spring/summer months. The seaweed smelled awful. It almost ruined the entire experience. Winter months are better for staying at the resort because they don’t have winter and there is no seaweed."

"Everything here was excellent, including the staff, the facilities, the room, the view from the room, the food in the restaurants, the pool, the available water toys (kayak, hobbies, ) and the very attention to details that convey that sense of luxury (ie the shampoo, the towel, the soap, the amazing bedding, etc). They are trying to keep the sargassum away with a barrier and partially succeeding at keeping it under control. The beach is relatively small and facing east."

"I stayed at the Windward Passage Hotel from May 14th through May 17th, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. The photos online were very deceiving and did not accurately reflect the condition of the hotel or the room we received. "Room was clean and comfortable. Would have liked a microwave in the room and coffee available in the lobby. The sitting area was nice unless there was a boat nearby that gave a diesel smell. Cruise ships did not dock in front of the hotel but further down the dock, so our view was not blocked. Hotel is in walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the sky-tram which was nice."

"Booked a last minute trip here with my wife and daughter. We absolutely loved everything. The food was great, the room was very clean and updated unlike what we saw from other resorts. Honestly dont let a few bad reviews sway you about staying here. We will be back to the Buoy House next year. Well worth the price to stay here."

"There was no breakfast scheduled. They did not offer an explanation. They hosted a prom on Saturday evening and the guests were basically ignored during the evening and morning after. The food was not appetizing!! The rooms were clean, however, we realized that the sliding door would not lock. Maintenance came to take a look nonchalantly and left without a solution. There was no security latch on the front door as well. We packed up to leave and was offered another room. That room was freezing...

"The staff members, especially Asha were excellent. The setting was excellent. The view from our unit was beyond beautiful. The unit was well decorated (a bit dated but very nice). The adjacent restaraunt is very good, not a large menu but the food was very well prepared. The only negative was the location. Without a car you don't have access to anything else. If you are looking for a place to chill on the beach and eat in a nice restaraunt this just might be the place. We will go back."
