"Check in was quick, got in slightly earlier than advertised. Helpful staff. Ended up being upgraded to a family room with two beds, which was a bit unnecessary. Room was ok, surprised how poor the fittings are despite the age of the hotel. Desk chair completely ripped up, cupboards bashed. Stripped back beds and both had black marks over the sheets, housekeeping changed them asap but shouldn’t have been that way to start with. No towel rail except one over the bath so you have to go around the...

"Clean rooms, comfortable bed, one of the few a/c rooms in the Cotswolds. Friendly, helpful staff and fantastic location. We walked to the thermal bath spa and had a wonderful soak the morning that we checked out. Staff was very accommodating and keeping our bags for the day."

"The guy who was at reception on the day we arrived was nice and also the lady in the morning. But room is quite small for 3 person. The bed sheet was dirty if you see well."

"The hotel was a quick walk to Bristol Temple-Meads train station which we used a lot during our stay. The room was clean & comfortable & the nespresso machine was a bonus."

"The room was very clean, comfortable bed. All my basic needs for a one stop, just driving by. Staff were very friendly felt safe as single woman traveler. They could not do enough with any requests. I wished the TV was bigger and a working Arial signal was in the room. But I was not in the room much so it never really mattered. There was parking, luckily just outside the door. Would stay again if I visited."

"Staff friendly and helpful on Check in , the rooms and bathrooms definitely need updating which didn’t include breakfast so was quite steep for one night . No air con so it was really hot in the rooms . It was a good location , no complaints there but I think the room fee was too much considering how much they need modernising ."

Front staffs were nice, though I almost got heart attack when she forgot to return my credit card back and I had a moment that I thought I lost it. I got it back anyway and staff still helpful."

"There was a problem with the room. But they did move us. I don't think Pets should be allowed in a hotel like this, we were moved as the room next door had a barking dog. Otherwise, beautiful grounds and rooms. Staff at breakfast very welcoming, good quality food. Spa was clean. And a good stay"

"Excellent breakfast good choice and very friendly breakfast team. The team deserve a special mention. However on check in the room was not ready and we were kept waiting until another team member just moved us to a room that was ready (not sure why original member of staff didn’t do that) which would have avoided the unnecessary and frustrating wait after a long journey."
