"Great location for getaway. nice garden, good pools.
Breakfast: good selection, but service staff is not good organised, they are almost avoiding non chinese people in order to not speak english. only 4 of 10 days were we showed to a table to sit down, and only 3 of those days were we asked about coffee or tea. its not about we cant take it ourselves, its about the staff lacking proper training to be on ritz carlton level.
during day time there seems to be very limited options to eat or drink, restaurants are open only specific times and only room service is available outside these times. for instance: it was impossible to just buy a fresh coconut at 14:00 in the reception because there was no staff in the shop to sell it to us, even though it was just sitting there. when we asked about it they said it wasnt open right now. this is really really bad image for ritz carlton.
Rooms: we got a swim up pool room which was nice, but the AC in these room are extremely bad, when it was 34 degrees outside, the AC was struggling, and could only deliver around 23-24 degrees indoors, which is not ok at all for a ritz carlton. when confronting reception about this, they were super difficult and insisted on measuring the temperature in the room from where the air duct is, and not the temperature in the room, which is also ridiculous.
after alot of complaining, we got a villa, which was nice of them, AC was good, but villa pool was dirty and hadnt been cleaned for a long time."
"My entire family had a fantastic stay at our 2 bedroom suite. It comes with a large living room and CEO study room, way beyond our expectation. So comfy that we almost didn’t want to go out! Housekeeping was done promptly and professionally, it felt so good to return to a sparkling clean home after a hot day in the sun."
"The hotel guests were too many at this time of the year, belief this is the peak period because of the school vacation. Over-all it is a pleasant stay for us. Highly recommended for family stay,"
The Shanhaitian Resort Sanya, Autograph Collection
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful property overlooking the bay with direct access to the ocean boardwalk. Large shopping mall is about a 20min walk and accessible via the boardwalk. Many local restaurants nearby.
The rooms are slightly scuffed since they are older, but overall the room is lovely. Clean room, wonderful waterfall shower, comfy beds, robes, slippers, flip flops, hair drier, flat iron, many toiletries, water bottles, tea, coffee, quiet
Breakfast buffet is massive and goes until 1pm. We didnt eat lunch our entire trip because we were so full each day. The Casa Corona ground level pool bar has a fire show each night."
"Family of four stayed in hotel for 11 days - we had great time. Very nice hotel -staff very helpful, convenient location in haitang sanya, rooms and facilities are very clean and comfortable, with big family rooms. My butler Bobby has been great help to us, patient and experienced. Kids club is great for family, staff well trained and great to kids. There are lots kids pools with staff looking after customers all the time, Alan has been very helpful when we were playing near the kids pool. Overall very happy with the hotel and kids loved sanya as first timer in China"
