"Room not what we were expecting as it wasn’t a cabin but a very damp smelling old and worn lodge in a row of other lodges which were all connected together. However after paying an upgrade on our booking we were allocated a large cabin near the lake"

"A beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. A little bit tired in places, but staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was OK."

"Friendly staff and welcoming however only downside was the noise from the corridor when other guests were shutting doors and walking up and down. Doors slammed and awoke me in a panic a few times as well hearing people outside very clearly. Maybe the door seals need looking at?"

"Whilst decor is a little dated the room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. It was nice to have a decent sized bathroom! We had an exec double as we had our daughter with us and there was plenty of room for us all. Breakfast was excellent quality and good choice - we ate in The Place. All the staff were excellent and very helpful. We would definitely use again as the location was great for the town and also getting out and about."

"Short stay, lovely room with great view over the canal and fields. Iron was worn out and burnt my shirt! Otherwise ok facilities, bathroom a little tired ."

"I Should have booked a bigger room because the ‘cosy double’ was tiny. I could hardly walk around the bed and it had a tv shelf which was sticking out too far. We made do for 2 nights but our room on the side was very noisy so we didn’t sleep well. The radiator was very dusty too. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn’t the greatest quality food but enough to set you up for the day."

"Great property in a great location staff really helpful room really nice with everything you need but not taking cash and should of read the booking but charging £15 a night parking is not good the only downside"

"Room clean and adequate size. Would have been nice to have a fridge but we were given fresh water. Although there is no air on, they do provide a floor fan. Evening meal was delicious, as was the wine. English breakfast was ok - I couldn’t eat the sausages as it was very over seasoned with white pepper, so I didn’t enjoy it, but hubby who loves pepper was happy to eat mine. Check in and out was very easy. Annoyingly because we hadn’t booked direct with the hotel we where charged £12 parking."
