The Reef Beach Resort - All Inclusive - East End, Grand Cayman
8/10 Good
"Staff were excellent! So friendly, helpful, and kind. They worked hard to provide the best experience and service possible.
We had a combo room (1 king room w adjoining 1 king + 2 twin Murphy beds) and it was plenty of room for our family of five. The larger room had a full kitchen available. Oceanfront patios had tables and chairs to watch the sunrise.
Gym was basic but equipped well enough for vacation workouts. Several cardio machines, a set of hand weights and one weight machine.
Food was good. We did the all-inclusive option (3 meals/day + drinks) and it was great for our family with 3 teens. There was a lot of variety on the menu. Buffets were good as well.
Sadly the beach was not great due to sargassum/seaweed. There wasn’t much the resort could do but we didn’t get to experience the beach here due to the smell. Under different circumstances it would have been gorgeous!! Perfect for watching sunrise.
Pools were basic and good. No food or drink service at the pools so just be aware if that’s your vibe."
"Room was very modern, spacious & clean. Felt like a boutique hotel. Shower was abundant hot water. Lot's of good towels. Mini-frig, microwave and prep sink. There are free big beach towels in the lobby. Breakfast was served by waiter in the downstairs restaurant, which I appreciated (versus buffet)."
"The property is nice and short two minute walk to Seven Mile But arch. Check in was easy, however, I did have to contact the property to get the code as it was not sent. Was not able to get into the gym, as the code was not accurate. Additionally, the property also did not an ice machine, and the bathroom sink was slow to drain. Overall, I enjoyed myself."
"Overall, excellent place to stay. Hotel is clean. Excellent/Prime location. NOT directly on beach but on the beach side of the main road and small path to beach. We had issues with the rooms (2 different rooms; 1 toilet wasnt flushing, the other had a large outdoor exhaust outside windows that we couldnt sleep at night bc of sound.) 3rd room was great. All bathrooms are very small and shower doesnt have door and water constantly spills water into the bathroom floor and floor itself is coming up/warping (known issue they're working on fixing throughout the property). Breakfast was amazing and had a great variety of things (albeit basics). Never crowded. We literally ate there daily bc it was that good. The dinning area to eat is very cozy and bohemian fell. Pool is very clean but small. Ample parking for rental or guests. They provide free beach chairs (first come, first serve tho, and part of the daily hotel fee). Staff was all very pleasant and helpful. Cleaning staff was super nice. Not much to do at hotel otherwise; so a place to sleep and go out from to do things. Beach was spectacular, pristine, swimmable. Very happy with our stay and accommodation. Hotel acknowledged issues with the rooms and immediately gave us new rooms. Definitely worth the tier/class you're paying for."
"The Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our bedroom was a good size, very clean. Kettle. Coffee, tea readily available together with 2 bottles of water. Fridge was stocked up and other snacks available if you wanted to buy.
Our 2 night stay was most enjoyable as we were able to use all facilities. We relaxed by the pool and also tried the bar for food also very good."
